One American Idol "Kellie" debuted an album
this week on the charts, but it was the original "Kelly" who holds strong at #6 on the
BillBoard album chart. Kellie Pickler's "The Woman I Am" debuted with 16K in sales at #19 on the overall chart and #4 on
the county chart. Kelly Clarkson's Christmas Album "Wrapped in Red", however, saw barely a drop in sales with 42K in its third week for a total of 155K in those three weeks. The other country Idol artist in the Top 50 is Scotty McCreery's "See You Tonight" at #48 with 7K in sales. That brings his five week total to a nice round 100K in sales. That actually matches his 5 week total for his 2011 compilation EP from the show, and now lags the sales of his Christmas album in its fifth week (~120K). And speaking of "Christmas With Scotty McCreery", that album saw a big spike in sales this week as well, with 4K in sales to bring its total to 357K. "See You Tonight" has its work cut out for it trying to catch up with the sales of CWSM, but at least in January 2014 its sales will not plummet like those for a holiday album.
Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" album remains on the chart at #120 in its 81st week and Mandisa's "Overcomer" is close behind at #124 in its 12th week. Phillip Phillip's debut album finally drops off the Top 200 chart after 51 weeks. Next week, Daughtry's new "Baptized" album will enter the charts with
estimated sales of 55K to 60K.
