But seriously…<br /><br />I never realized that there was such a great divide between liver haters and liver lovers until I put a few pictures on my Facebook page yesterday.<br /><br />I mean, I knew that my BFF/OSOP Schmoop hated it.  I discovered that Jayman hated it, but c’mon, there are more than a plethora of you liver haters out there, and more importantly, liver lovers, right?<br /><br />What’s up with you liver hatin’ mutha fu--shut your mouth!!<br /><br />Liver is good for a soul.  It’s chock full of protein, iron, Vitamin A…Oh but no, we hate it, because it’s different.  It’s not ground round, sirloin, or t-bone…it violates the inner-sanctum of the cow.<br /><br />Bullshit...It’s part of the same God Damn Cow that is so God Damn cute, and delicious, so you pretentious, elitist, only save the organ part of the cow altruist pansies need to shut the hell up.<br /><br />But you know what?<br /><br />The removing and subsequent cooking of Elsies’s liver can teach us all a story.<br /><br />I was shocked, and not in a bad way mind you, okay, yes a bad way, to find out yesterday that the cooking of liver was such a divisive issue.<br /><br />I’m sorry, but cooking the innards of such a stupid animal and having it taste awesome is not something that I care about.<br /><br />Yet, I heard the roars of, <i> “Groooosssssssss.” </i> Gross?  Liver is awesome, tasty, and already cooked as we speak.<br /><br />Here’s the thing….<br /><br />I posted several pics and quips on my personal Facebook page yesterday that revolved around me cooking liver and Schmoop hating it.<br /><br />There were numerous and diverse opinions about the likes and dislikes of said liver, but…it was fun.  And you know what?  One person said…<i>“I should try it.”</i><br /><br />It’s a shame that Congress can’t have the same collegial feeling and fun time debating a topic.<br /><br />Of course, while we were happily and humorously debating the liver topic yesterday on Facebook, we weren’t being influenced by the American Liver Council, and there my friends, lies the problem.<br /><br />Noooooooo…not with the American Liver Council (if there is one), but with special interest groups and lobbyists…<br /><br />Folks…<br /><br />You and I, because of us lacking a voice, are living in a country and government controlled by a guy who wants tariffs on wheat lifted, a gun lobby that wants to sell guns because they just likes to sell gun, and a chick who longs for legalized cunnilingus and a guy who has God so far up his ass, he shits righteousness while pimping ads for LifeLock.<br /><br />Uuch…<br /><br />I made liver yesterday…It caused some consternation, and …we had fun with it.  Liver became a very divisive issue.<br /><br />But…I cooked it.  I ate it.  I posted pictures.  And no one got hurt.<br /><br />All were happy…<br /><i><br /></i> <i>Matt-Man</i><br /><i>Cheers!!</i><br /><br /><a href="mailto:mattmaniws@ymail.com">mattmaniws@ymail.com</a><br /><span style="color: blue;"><a href="https://twitter.com/MattMan_IWS">@mattmaniws</a></span><br /><br /><br /><br />Be sure to check out the I’m With Stupid podcast! Irish Food Fleadh

Superquinn are having an Irish Food "Fleadh" (pronounced "Fla" it is the Irish word for Festival) so I picked up some great fillet steaks and also a great free little recipe booklet. Today may be the second day of spring, but it still feels like winter. <strong>Digital Resources Librarian (C13-067) -</strong> <strong><span style="color: #48286d;">Elihu Burritt Library</span></strong> at Central Connecticut State University (New Britian) invites innovative and energetic applicants to fill a full-time, tenure-track librarian position that will serve on the Library’s Information Systems and Resources team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that successfully respond to the research needs of CCSU’s students, faculty, and staff. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and to working with a diverse student body. Duties include but are not limited to: Leads the library in the development, organization, delivery, and assessment of library learning and technology services, programs and resources for faculty, staff, and students; Participates with other library professionals in the oversight, maintenance, and development of the library’s web presence, including HTML pages, content management systems (LibGuides, Wordpress, Drupal, Contentdm), and other web applications; Develops successful partnerships with teaching faculty and other campus units to integrate the library’s digital collections and services with campus learning initiatives. Coordinates all library wide digitization projects; Assists with the administration of the following systems: All Springshare products (LibGuides, LibAnswers, LibAnalytics), Libchat (Chat reference system), Metalib/Primo (Federated Search & Discovery), including staff training and support; Maintains and develops mobile technologies; Liaises with the Serials/Electronic Resources Librarian and the Electronic Resources Specialist as needed; Provides technical support for the library’s Integrated Library System (Millennium) and Interlibrary Loan management software (ILLiad) in the absence of the Systems Librarian; Shares with other library professionals in the oversight of electronic resource management including budgeting, selection, evaluation, access, and trouble-shooting; Provides assistance and technical support to library staff for the creation of learning aids such as screen casts and library guides; Participates with other library professionals in guiding the library in the selection of new technologies and their implementation; Provides knowledge and expertise associated with the university’s course management software; Acts as liaison with the Centers for Teaching and Educational Technology as well as the University Information Technology Department. Required Qualifications: American Library Association accredited Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent; Experience relevant to digital resources management in an academic library; Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of library digital technology and collections; Demonstrated experience and knowledge of emerging technologies, such as mobile applications and cloud computing; Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving skills; Commitment to serving culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse communities. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Innovative Interfaces Integrated Library System including its Electronic Resources Management module; Demonstrated commitment to positive user experience; Experience with Ex Libris’ SFX link resolver and A-Z list administration; Experience with discovery layer technologies.
