Happy Thursday all! I'm slooowly inching my way towards finishing this blasted bedroom. Close enough that I'm down to the details...mostly. And what is more detail-ish than a bedskirt.<br /><br />I have a bit of a linens fetish. D. Porthault is like porn to me. But obviously that is a bit out of budget and I couldn't throw out my perfectly fine white Target bedskirt. Changing Things Up: Drinking More Water + Food Finds

style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: DE-AT;">Es war ein strategischer Fehler Austrian Airlines an die Lufthansa zu verkaufen. Zum Zeitpunkt des Verkaufes von Austrian Airlines hatte Air France noch die nötigen finanziellen Mittel Austrian zu kaufen. Im Gegensatz zur Lufthansa, welche München als Drehscheibe aufbaute, hätte Air France Wien als „Gateway“ in den Osten ausgebaut und somit eine legitime Konkurrenz zur Lufthansa gebildet. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><span lang="DE-AT" style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%; mso-ansi-language: DE-AT;">“Unfit to Fly” ist seit einigen Tagen in aller Munde. Hintergrund dafür sind die Flugstreichungen der heimischen Fluglinie Austrian, die sich nicht zu schade war, die Gründe dafür offen zu kommunizieren.<br /><br />Was hat es damit auf sich? Was bedeutet “unfit to fly”?<br /><br />Auf keinen Fall sollte man diesen Zustand mit Krankheit, Krankenstand oder ähnlichem verwecheln. Nicht fit sein fürs Fliegen kann mannigfaltige Gründe haben. Psychischer Schmerz, wie etwa bei einer Trennung, Geldsorgen, verstorbene Verwandte oder Kinder - all das belastet ein Gemüt. In der Fliegerei kam man zu dem Konsens, dass ein derartiger Animus in keinem Fall für eine professionelle Arbeit in einem Cockpit zuträglich sein kann. Nicht zu unrecht, hat man sich doch Tag für Tag auf essentiell wichtige Entscheidungen zu konzentrieren - Ablenkung und ein getrübter Geist können schnell in einer Tragödie enden. Piloten und Fluglotsen wird geraten, selbst nach einem heftigen Streit mit der Partnerin / dem Partner, der Arbeit fern zu bleiben. Auch ich bin Pilot, und kenne keinen Crewplaner, der dafür kein Verständis hat.<br /><br />Dass das Otto Normalverbraucher verwundert, sei natürlich nicht unerwähnt. In den meisten Branchen wäre ein Anruf, nicht zur Arbeit zu kommen, weil man gerade mit der Freundin eine kräftige Auseinandersetzung hatte, vermutlich ein Entlassungsgrund.<br /><br />In sicherheitssensiblen Berufen, wie dem eines Piloten oder Fluglotsen, hat jedoch das Sicherheitsbewusstsein Vorrang. “Troubled Minds” oder unfitte Flugbesatzungen riskieren selten nur das eigene Leben.<br /><br />Zurück zur Austrian - zurück zu einem Berufsstand, der in der Öffentlichkeit keine Lobby zu besitzen scheint. Dieses österreichische Unternehmen, seit mehr als 50 Jahren am Markt, ist zur Zeit von der schlimmsten Krise seit ihrem Bestehen gebeutelt. Das Fass ist voll - und wie lange die Tropfen sich hier schon versammeln, sollte sich ein jeder, der im Moment glaubt eine Ahnung von Anstrengung und Entbehrung zu haben, vor Augen führen.<br /><br />Missführung, Missmanagement und Proporz haben den Karren an die Wand gefahren. Ein Merger 2004, ein Manager (“Die AUA ist saniert!”) nach dem anderen, der an der Aktiengesellschaft zwar gut verdient aber letztendlich doch nichts geleistet hat, Sparpakete, Zwangsteilzeit, Gehaltskürzungen, die Übernahme durch die Deutsche Lufthansa und, finally, Existenz- und Zukunftsängste. Wie viel hier durchgemacht wurde, kann sich der durchschnittliche österreichische Arbeitnehmer wohl schwer vorstellen. Es ist für jemanden der selbst fliegt daher überhaupt nicht verwunderlich, dass es einigen Leuten zu viel wird. Und dass Konsequenzen gezogen werden müssen. Die Umwälzungen, die in diesem Betrieb stattfinden, würden keinen österreichischen Arbeitnehmer, sofern betroffen, einfach kalt lassen.<br /><br />Nun ist es fünf nach zwölf - die Zeit für unpopuläre Maßnahmen scheint gekommen zu sein. In bester AUA-Manier wird das Versagen anderer auf dem Sündenbock Personal abgewälzt. Privilegienritter sollen die Piloten der AUA sein. Und Millionäre. Sie allein stehen der Firma und dem ewigen Glück und Wohlstand im Weg.<br /><br />Dass hier ein Berufsstand seit Jahren vorgeführt und zur Kasse gebeten wird, ist den meisten nicht bewusst, und, selbst nach Erklärung, nicht begreiflich. Warum ist das so?<br /><br />Warum wälzt ein Unternehmen, die Misstände, die durch offensichtliches, jahrzehntelanges Versagen in den oberen Managementebenen verursacht wurden, nun auf einem Berufsstand ab?<br /><br />Weil es so einfach ist! Es ist herrlich einfach, Neid und Missgunst zu schüren. Es ist herrlich einfach, auf eine Berufsgruppe hinzuhauen, die in der Öffentlichkeit nur mehr bedingtes Ansehen genießt. Die Geschäftsführung lässt es bei keiner Gelegenheit aus, die eigene Mannschaft vorzuführen und in Misskredit zu bringen. Der Facebook-Auftritt der AUA, wo die Flugverspätungen ganz offen auf das fliegende Personal abgewälzt werden, spricht Bände.<br /><br />Ich habe noch keinen Flugbetrieb erlebt, der so offen seine Mitarbeiter ankreidet. Wenn ich mich heute unfit melde, so springt ein Stand-by (so heißen die Piloten auf Bereitschaft) für mich ein. Werden nicht genug vorgehalten (die Stand-bys also), so muss der Flug abgesagt werden.<br /><br />So what? Liegt das im Verantwortungsbereich der Piloten und Flugbegleiter? Sicherlich nicht! Es ist im Interesse der Geschäftsführung genug Personal zur Verfügung zu stellen, damit ein vernünftiger Crewfaktor freie Tage und Krankenstände abfedern kann. Dass sich diese Annahme nicht mit der Aussage “Wir haben sowieso zu viele Piloten!” verträgt, sei mal so in den Raum gestellt.<br /><br />Hier ist die Personalvertretung gefordert. Zeigen Sie der Öffentlichkeit auf, was hier im Gange ist! Listen Sie auf, transparent und nachvollziehbar, was das Personal für den Fortbestand dieses Unternehmens seit Jahren auf sich genommen hat! Zeigen Sie auf, wie mit Ihnen umgegangen wird, was der/die Einzelne Ihrer Geschäftsführung wert ist! Zeigen Sie, dass SIE das Unternehmen sind, dass SIE der einzige Grund sind, warum dieses Unternehmen einen Herrn Ötsch, ein Duo Bierwirth & Malanik und Konsorten überlebt haben.<br /><br />Ich bin mir sicher, Kollegen, dass Ihr die Lacher, und vor allem die Solidarität der Kunden wieder auf eurer Seite haben werdet. </span><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12.0pt; line-height: 115%;">Meine habt ihr bereits jetzt.</span></div>
