Position: Software QA Engineer Location: Austin, TX Duration: Full time Job Description: We are looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer with experience in testing software in Windows environments. The software quality engineer will be a member of our data analysis software engineering team working on challenging problems in the semiconductor production domain. The product environment includes mathematical data analysis algorithms, graphical data representation and user interfaces, database storage and management, real-time data processing and programming interfaces. Key attributes of the successful candidate are being a self-starter, problem solver, collaborative team player, and high productivity contributor.   Responsibilities include: 1) Write test plans and test cases for data analysis software product, including windows applications, database servers and APIs 2) Verify compliance with software requirements and general product usability 3) Automated and manual test execution using standard SQA practices. 4) Manage result verification activities by special contributors, such as scientists or other experts. 5) Verification of fixed defects. 6) Mentor other SQA engineers Education and/or experience desired: 1) BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other technical field. 2) 2+ years of professional experience in SQA testing. 3) Intimate understanding of software quality assurance processes, including writing of test plans and use of defect tracking systems. 4) Experience with Windows operating systems, experience with Linux a plus. 5) Strong skills in scripting languages, such as Visual Basic or Perl. 6) Experience with automated test tools. 7) Experience with Microsoft .Net platform, Visual Studio development tools and C# or C++ programming languages preferred. 8) Knowledge of software development lifecycle and build/release of commercial software. 9) Experience in semiconductor industry a plus. I've also made chai via a <a href="http://the-big-weight.blogspot.com/2011/09/september-goals-and-chai-tea-recipe.html" target="_blank">recipe</a> from Eat What You Love, and it's not a terrible one.  It's actually pictured above and that nice size cup yields 3 PointsPlus (despite what the previous blog post said).  Still, I was ready to give something else a try.  So this weekend I made Crock Pot chai from the <a href="http://www.mileskimball.com/MilesKimball/Shopping/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=BC00360353" target="_blank">Crock Pot Diet Cookbook</a>.  You basically take several black tea bags, 8ish cups of water, fresh ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and ground cloves along with 3/4 cup of sugar and heat that on high for 2.5 hours.  It's not bad, and I'm sure I can get used to drinking it.  My only complaint with this version is that the spices don't strain out very well in a strainer (I'm using a powdered sugar sifter).  I'm not sure they are supposed to, but you end up with a ton of spice sediment in the bottom of your cup.  I don't think anyone wants to digest about 2 Tbsp worth of wet spices.  I never figured out the PointsPlus value of this one. This is the premise for why we war, why there’s prejudice, why we feel justified in hurting others, why ideals judge, hate, and fight to seek value above other ideals. This is why people who have low self-esteem feel the need to put others down in order to pump them-selves up. Is their criticism a way to control you, to put you beneath them, and a way for them to feed their ego? Assisting public services staff in the Circulation Department and Informaton Services is also required. Qualifications: requires a Master's Degree in Library Science and preferably a concentration in children’s services. One year experience in children’s library services preferred. Requires knowledge of children’s literature, reading interests and the ability to relate to children and adults. This person will have excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as understanding of room/behavior management; relevant computer skills in Microsoft Word and knowledge of MS Office software; basic knowledge of Internet and graphic design software, and general knowledge of library automated systems as well as electronic and digital resources. This is a full time 35 hour per week position including some evenings and Saturday rotation. Salary range $39,500 to $41,350. Benefits package. EOE.
