<strong>Children's & Teen Assistant</strong> - The <span style="color: #48286d;"><strong>Stonington Free Library</strong></span> has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, multi-tasking Children’s Room Assistant. Applicants must be available to work a year-round, flexible schedule of 15 - 20 hours per week, including weekdays, one evening per week and rotating Saturdays. Excellent computer, organizational and communication skills are a must. Candidate should have experience working with children and teens. Library experience a plus. Position will include reader’s advisory and home work assistance, so an outgoing personality is a plus! Hourly rate starts at $13.35 per hour with sick, holiday and vacation time (no health benefits). Latin and Greek Language Catalogers - The Donohue Group, Inc.

<strong>Latin and Greek Language Catalogers</strong> - <span style="color: #48286d;"><strong>The Donohue Group, Inc. </strong></span>Opening in our Windsor, CT, office for experienced Latin and Greek language catalogers to work on an on-call basis. Flexible hours are available, and there is an option to work remotely. Duties: Perform original and/or copy cataloging for a variety of Latin and Greek language materials. Required qualifications: MLS (ALA accredited); fluency in English and Greek, and good reading knowledge of Latin; recent experience in both original and copy cataloging of materials in Latin and Greek; knowledge of AACR2 rules, DDC classification, LCSH, OCLC searching and MARC editing. Compensation: Working at our Windsor office, hourly rate DOE; remote work will be compensated on a fee-per-title basis. Virginia Beach

Apparently <a href="http://the-big-weight.blogspot.com/search/label/Jamaica" target="_blank">Jamaica</a> just wasn't enough for us this year :). <br /><br />As I type this (on my new MacBook Air I might add! - more on that later), I am sitting in our lovely hotel room in Virginia Beach, VA enjoying the sights and sounds of the ocean. <br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinR7h9i7OPYXtXvHCvWLYRieOvAzuNWaWR6oezlt4K3pX8N3Hf_IUQsBmay9AJSql57yTsQBlDDA67pwlnm3sqrf_ode3HFDFjt8CCr4ponNBrdIkwb1O69NEBSfqromcdyM_FwLu7qek/s1600/Virginia+Beach-20120823-00161.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinR7h9i7OPYXtXvHCvWLYRieOvAzuNWaWR6oezlt4K3pX8N3Hf_IUQsBmay9AJSql57yTsQBlDDA67pwlnm3sqrf_ode3HFDFjt8CCr4ponNBrdIkwb1O69NEBSfqromcdyM_FwLu7qek/s400/Virginia+Beach-20120823-00161.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><br />While we did have an AMAZING time in Jamaica on our Wedding Moon, we still wanted to enjoy the beach a little closer to home.  It's been our annual tradition since Joel and I met that we go to Ocean City, MD every summer.  This year, we decided to try a new place and headed a little further south in the Old Dominion.<br /><br />We arrived just about an hour ago and I'm awaiting Joel's return from the local tackle shop.  It wouldn't be a trip to the beach without some surf fishing :). <br /><br />In an effort to stay On Plan while I am here, we brought along turkey and my favorite hard salami, as well as a few other snacks.  Hopefully this will help minimize the eating out, and benefit me with a loss this week.  I'm proud of myself for doing this.... planning and bringing some decent food along. <br /><br />Here's to staying On Plan while on a mini vacay! :)<br /><br /><br />

the palm trees are calling my name

My 8-days-away-from-being-5 year old has been counting down the days since...December and it is finally time to hit the road!
