For a few days around the unveiling of the built work, this part of London is the focus of the world of architecture as journalists, architects, and the curious flock to see the newest thing. Removed in the fall, the pavilions live on in photographs and in documentation of the events taking place within them. <a href="http://www.serpentinegallery.org/2012/02/serpentine_gallery_pavilion_2012.html">This year's design</a> actually picks up on the temporary nature of the buildings, aiming to unearth the previous foundations and incorporate them into the pavilion (not finding any foundations, architects Herzog & de Meuron and Ai Weiwei rebuilt them as cork surfaces instead).<br /><br />Last year's pavilion, <a href="http://www.serpentinegallery.org/2011/04/serpentine_gallery_pavillion_2011_zumthor.html"><i>Hortus Conclusus</i></a>, designed by Swiss architect Peter Zumthor with Dutch garden designer <a href="http://www.oudolf.com/">Piet Oudolf</a>, is documented in this handsome catalogue. Most of the roughly 100 pages are devoted to color photographs of the pavilion's outside and inside, making the theme of "a garden within the garden" very clear. Zumthor's essay, which comes after a lovely watercolor of the design's plan and section, makes as much clear as well. But what makes the book worth the price of admission -- what takes it beyond just an assemblage of the same photos that can be <a href="http://www.archdaily.com/146392/serpentine-gallery-pavilion-2011-peter-zumthor/">found online</a> anyways -- is the documentation of Oudolf's design of the garden, which takes up about about a dozen pages, most of them photos and descriptions of plant species. It may be strange that a book on a program that charts the progress of contemporary architecture on a yearly basis is most valuable in terms of landscape design, but that follows from Zumthor's design. The heart of the built project was the enclosed garden, and the plants that comprised it defined the short-lived experience. I'm Gonna Do This

It has been 5 days since I have counted a single Point.  <i>This </i>is a <b>terrible </b>idea!<br /><br />So, I'm clear on at least one thing in my journey: I need structure.  "Mindful eating" is not cutting it for me.   I need more guidelines.  I need more <i>rules</i>.  <br /><br />Truth be told - I miss Weight Watchers. <br /><br />But -<br /><br />I <i>need </i>to find a way to make it work for me. Schoolnet experiences a Mandela Day well spent - at the Sunshine Association in Johannesburg

The aim of the group was to provide the children with early intervention and stimulation and to support the parents. </span><br /><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Today, the Sunshine Association has 3 centres namely Craighall, Soweto/Eldorado Park and Elsburg(Germiston);  and it is committed to aiding the development of children with intellectual, development or physical disabilities and delays, working in partnership with families, communities and professionals to offer these children, their families and communities the vital services and support they require. The training programme based on normal development for the age group 0 – 7 years and can be used to identify developmental delays in children. </span><br /><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">The Craighall centre has a daily care programme for 70 disabled kids and an extra 7 able bodied kids which runs from 8.00AM until 1.00PM with an aftercare programme available.</span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Our Experience at Sunshine Association</b></span>  </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /><span style="font-size: small;">By 8.30AM on the morning of the 18 of July our Schoolnet staff gathered at Sunshine Association and we were greeted by Shannon – the lady who runs the centre. When asked what SchoolNet should bring on the day to give the kids, Shannon’s response was we did not have to take anything just our time and assistance was enough and by the end of the morning and spending time with the kids we all understood why, as the centre caters for physically and intellectually disabled kids who just require love and a very dedicated staff that needs help. Feeding the kids </span> </span></b></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;"><br />The day at Sunshine starts when the kids are dropped off by the parents, guardians or oorphanages. There are also kids who come from Alexandra and it is Shannon’s wish that in the near future there will be centres in such areas so that the kids do not have to travel so far everyday. </span><br /><span style="font-size: small;"><br /></span></div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Feeding is the first activity and this is done around 9am. It was a wonderful and very humbling experience as we helped the caregivers feed the kids. Sonto has been there for 19 years, and she has dedicated her life assisting these kids. Shannon has been there for more than ten years. Shannon explained how the Centre is short-staffed as the ideal situation is to have two teachers in a class; but due to financial constraints they only have one per class. This tag will group all the tweets about the same event together. Notify others that you have this hashtag via Twitter and so your hashtag is borne! Every time you want to add a tweet about the event you created, you simply write your tweet as normal but add the hashtag afterwards. </div><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><br /></div><div style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>How to read your list of tweets in that hashtag</b></span>  </div><br /><span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small;">I would suggest two things here: </span><br /><div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">1. Install Tweetdeck on your computer (<a href="http://www.tweetdeck.com/">http://www.tweetdeck.com/</a>).. This will enable you to add as many columns as you like, including your hashtag column.  I do this all the time – work from Tweetdeck instead of working from Twitter.
