I can still laugh

Everyone I know has posted it on their Facebook page. Yet it still made me laugh. <br /><br />My last post was dreadful. I even thought about taking it down. I'm not going to remove it because I think it's important for people to know how the justice system is flawed for the victims of crimes. Delaying the court date four and now possibly five times is ridiculous. Being verbally abused by someone who is the defense attorney (the attorney of the criminal) is just plain evil.<br /><br />I'm okay now. My roommate is at work today so I sat by the fireplace in my pajamas until noon. Watching stupid stuff on TV, crying, feeling sorry. I continue on with my life, do what I have to do. Work, live, love, laugh. <br /><br />These are tough times but life goes on no matter what. I have a lot of good stuff in my life too. The assault, the criminal trial, the divorce - these things do not define who I am. I am more than any of these things. I am better than the defense attorney. At least I can live with myself and I don't hurt people or try to make them feel bad. I wonder how he sleeps at night. I bet he has to take sleeping pills or drinks to get to sleep. <br /><br />Regardless, it's all good. I survived this past week and the week before. I will survive next week too. On one level it’s a play about regime change, where people who think they have a God-given right to power attempt to cling on to that power beyond its sell-by date, so it has a great resonance [with current world events]. It’s all delivered in the most beautiful poetry [ever] written."</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">David: " I saw [it] at drama school [and] was completely transported by it and by Derek Jacobi’s performance. It’s a play I have always loved… Because it’s quite unknowable. There are no heroes and villains in it, just people trying their best and not managing to get on with their lives. These people happen to be ruling a country, which makes their shortcomings all the more grossly played out. The worst day of my life

I've been having a lot of "worst day of my life" episodes in the past few years. I could start a TV series entitled "Worst Day of My Life". <br /><br />Yesterday goes down in my book of life as a really bad day. I've gone over it in my head a hundred times reviewing what happened and how I could have handled it differently. I wish I could have a re-do of yesterday. Sadly, what happened is permanently implanted in my brain and my heart. <br /><br />It started with me renting a U-Haul van to deliver twenty boxes of belongings to my soon-to-be ex-husband's divorce attorney's office. These were computer books and software and the delivery was court-ordered. <br /><br />Next, I got ready to head to the prosecutor's office for an interview with my husband's defense attorney for the criminal trial scheduled for next week. It was something I didn't want to do, but I was not given a choice in the matter. I knew it would be hard, reliving what happened on November 7, 2012, but I had no idea just how much it would hurt. <br /><br />The interview was my worst nightmare. It was at the prosecutor's office with the prosecutor and my advocate by my side. My husband's attorney was tenacious, delving into every part of my life that he thought would hurt me. I became angry, but tried to maintain a calm exterior. The bottom line is that he made me out to be the criminal and my husband the victim. It was really unbelievable. <br /><br />After an hour of being attacked, it was over. I felt like I was once again a victim. I was trying hard not to cry. After the evil defense attorney left, the prosecutor told me that was just a taste of what was to come at the trial. That's when they told me I would be put on the witness stand. Until yesterday I've been told I wouldn't have to testify. I was told because if they had me testify, then the defense would get to cross-examine me and if they did, they would try to destroy everything I said and make me look bad. Now I'm told because it's a "he said, she said" case that I would be testifying. The prosecutor said a lot of what my husband's attorney asked me wouldn't be allowed, but that I would be asked a lot of tough, embarrassing questions. <br /><br />The advocate talked to me for a while and said it's normal for the defense attorney to make the victim doubt themselves. Their intent is to make me look bad and to hurt me. The victim continues to be victimized. <br /><br />After all of this, I left the courthouse and sat in the U-Haul van and sobbed for about five minutes. Finally, I pulled myself together and headed over to my husband's divorce attorney's office to deliver the twenty boxes. When I talked to the receptionist she informs me I have to deliver the boxes to the second floor and that there isn't an elevator. The high ceilings makes the staircase twice as tall as normal. Some of the boxes are heavy. This seems like another tactic to add insult to injury.<br /><br />I headed back out to the van to start the delivery process when my husband pulled into the parking lot and parks next to me. He gets out of his truck and is crying telling me how much he loves me and misses me. I haven't spoken to him in almost a year. There are three restraining orders against him to not come near me. I have to decide if I talk to him and have him take the boxes or if I haul them all up to his attorney's office. <br /><br />His attorney's glass windows looks down on the parking lot. His attorney wasn't in but his assistant was waiting for me. I knew she could see the parking lot so I felt relatively safe. In hindsight, I realize now I made a really bad choice. I asked my husband if he would take the boxes of his belongings, inventory them and load them into his truck. He agreed.<br /><br />The next hour as he inventoried the boxes and signed off on each inventory sheet was the most stressful and difficult hour I've endured in almost a year. Even that hour after my cancer diagnosis wasn't as painful as an hour in his presence. <br /><br />He cried and pleaded with me over and over to drop the charges. I told him it was too late. I couldn't just let someone beat me, pull my hair out, put a gun to my head, threaten to kill me and let them walk away as though nothing happened.  He begged me to try and work things out with him. He kept saying how much he loved me and missed me. He repeated over and over how scared he is that he will end up in jail. I tried to keep the focus on him just taking the boxes of his belongings and complete the inventory. I told him I didn't want to talk about these things and only deliver his belongings to him, as ordered by the court.<br /><br />Finally, he finished the inventory and I got in the van to leave. He looked at me through the window of the van, crying, and said "I still love you". I put my head down, refused to look at him, as he drove off. <br /><br />There were no tears on my part. I felt pity for him and nothing else. I drove home feeling numb and dead inside. How did this happen to me? How did I wind up living a stupid lifetime movie?<br /><br />Looking back on yesterday, I handled all of it poorly. I was not prepared to be destroyed by the defense attorney. I knew it would be difficult, I just didn't know how difficult. At least I know what to expect in court next week.<br /><br />My encounter with my husband took me completely by surprise. I wasn't prepared to see him. I handled that poorly too. I should have just walked away, got in the van and left the premises. I wasn't thinking right. The stress from reliving the assault by my husband during the hour with his defense attorney sucked the life out of me. I didn't react normally when I saw my husband. I also think that it was a setup, done on purpose because the timing was too coincidental to have been an accident. My husband knew what time I was suppose to deliver the boxes to the defense attorney. Why did he show up just minutes after I arrived?<br /><br />The criminal trial is scheduled for next week, on Wednesday, October 9. However, I was told by the prosecutor (who I didn't like) that it might be delayed again. It depends if they can get a judge. I'm starting to feel like this will never be over. That's it's just one long process to destroy me. <br /><br />I have nothing positive to say here. Right now I feel wounded. Hurt. Sad. Broken. My roommate told me last night that I'm the strongest woman he's ever met yet I feel like I'm at my weakest. <br /><br />In eleven days I have a CT scan for my cancer and an appointment with my oncologist. I'll find out if the cancer has come back. I feel like with all the stress in my life that I'm welcoming it back against my will. <br /><br />Like I said, I don't have anything positive to say today. Just another episode of "The Worst Day of My Life".

I'm not exactly in trouble but have managed to push some buttons and put myself in predicaments i shouldn't have.<br /><br />It started at my daughter's school yesterday.  I was volunteering with a special event, then had lunch with her an a couple BFF's, then went out for recess together with all the other 1st graders.  Some kid threw up out there and randomly latched onto me as her savior.  I sought help with the nearest teacher who is an evil old bat who refused to help and tore into me like i was a naughty child, screaming at me that she didn't have time to deal with it and I needed to take her to the office.  Long story short, i embarrassed myself in front of my daughter and her friends, the sick child, and the small crowd of onlookers.  Appalled, i did take care of the child, got her cleaned up and started to take her in when another teacher thought i was abducting the kid or something stepped in to help.  Another mom called me last night to tell me her daughter thinks I'm like the most awesome mom on the planet for yelling at the old bat.  Everybody hates her.  We had a good laugh but I have to face the teachers each day and i'm not proud of this.  But i did the right thing for the child who was clearly not going to be helped by anyone else.  She's 6 or 7 and covered in puke.  Come on, people!  As I was leaving, the old bitch yelled to me the she thought i was a new substitute teacher... as if that made it okay to berate me and ignore the child.<br /><br />I had finished off an entire bottle of wine by the time my husband got home and i didn't stop until i went to bed.  It seemed a better plan than punching someone in the throat.  But it also made me obnoxious as alcohol has a tendency to do.  If I'm in a good mood, I'm funny and everybody loves me.  If I started in a pissy mood, well, what's on my mind just spews out.  So he's upset with me still today.  He understood what had happened but expected me to just drop it. And I'm not irate that she yelled at me anymore, I was mad on behalf of that the kid and for her parents.  What if it was our kid?  So what, that was his answer.  Grrrrrr!  I'm not mad today, he needs to get over it!  Gosh, the man holds a grudge...<br /><br />I was supposed to do something for Sir that afternoon, I didn't.  I got a free pass on that due to life.<br /><br />But there are some rules that aren't negotiable.  HIS rules, not mine.  In my tipsy angry state, i got mad at Sir and decided not to do something.  He can't freaking make me do it!  He's not even here, he has no idea what i do!  I will NOT DO IT!  I was screaming inside, dammit I'm not going to do this.  Screw you, I'm not a child and you can't make me!  And I didn't.  I crawled into bed with my book... but kept looking over at it.  Fuck you.  I rolled over the other way and tried reading again.  Kept looking back and finally crawled out of bed... i think the ugly words were actually spewing out of my mouth and not just spinning in my head... but I did it.  I put the freaking clothes away.  Yeah, that's all it was, laundry.  It's not allowed to sit around anymore.<br /><br />This morning i woke with a very uncomfortable feeling.  Do i tell Sir?  I'm running through my head trying to remember what the rule was - was it that am i not allowed to go to bed without putting it away, or was it that am I not to go to <i>sleep</i> without putting it away?  Technicalities... Probably Gonna Be Quiet Today

The sister in law is due to come over and wipe this computers ass shiny clean.<br /><br />I have been suffering through with a corrupted Windoze system the last few days and it is frosting my balls as I type.<br /><br />I did get a CD of Ubuntu burnt, finally, but it is way too complicated for me to install. I could just use the CD, it works to surf the net but I'm going to hold off messing with it.<br /><br /><br />I believe it was <a href="http://every-blade-of-grass.blogspot.com/">DrJim</a> who suggested I get and install <a href="http://www.kubuntu.org/getkubuntu/download">Kubuntu</a>. Sounds good to me, I just got back from a trip to Wally World at two in the morning to get a fucking USB stick.<br />16 GigaBytes oughtta be enough room to do the trick.<br /><br />I'm tellin' ya though, you can't imagine how glad I will be to be rid of this fucked operating system.<br />It's slower than a wish and buggy as hell.<br /><br />So I imagine she will show up and demand I cease and desist while she does her magic.<br />I am going to go put a motor mount in the wife's car and while I am out there I am going to change the oil and flush and refill the coolant. It's that time of year and you can use this as a reminder to have yours checked.<br /><br />I'm sure there will be much cursing involved so it will be just like using this computer anyway.<br /><br />See ya's when it's done.

He is both like and unlike his brother. He is like him in his absolute commitment of duty. Richard recognises this loyalty - just after York has rebuked him passionately and left the stage in disgust,he still makes the Duke Governor of England in his absence. Later in the plot, when York has taken an oath of allegiance to the new King Henry IV, he maintains his loyalty to Henry even to the point of informing on his own son Aumerle. It is no surprise that Henry sees in his uncle York something of his own father Gaunt, for York like Gaunt, lets neither family nor personal considerations come before duty.</span></div><div id="yiv7551940571yui_3_7_2_63_1379923892665_39"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Yet York is a much more commanding figure than Gaunt. For York old age mans not the wisdom of experience, it means weakness, indecision and helplessness. It is York himself who tries to dissuade Gaunt from criticising the King lest it do more harm than good and though he does make some efforts to organise resistance to Henry, these efforts are rather half hearted. When York confronts Henry, he simply admits he is powerless and yields. He is a man with neither natural authority nor initiative. Affairs simply leave him confused. So, far from being Richard's governor, he comes to claim to be neutral. He feels sympathy for Richard, but by the the time of the deposition he has moved from his neutrality to Henry's side and is the first to hail the new King. By Act V he has taken an oath of allegiance to Henry IV. It seems that for all his sense of duty , he drifts with - or is pushed by - events. The impression is of a man unable to cope: "Things past redress are now with me past care".</span></div><div id="yiv7551940571yui_3_7_2_63_1379923892665_39"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">York's indecision and ineffectuality constitute a crucial part of the design of Richard II for in him we see the central dilemma of the play; Gaunt dies before having to face the dilemma. York has outlived his time: his simple but firm sense of duty, ideal when the King is strong and noble like Edward III, does not know which way to turn when the King is weak and negligent like Richard II. It is precisely because York both wants to remain loyal to Richard and recognises that he has not behaved as a King should towards Henry that he is caught between the two sides. We might say that in him we see the confusion that results when the King ceases to be a true ruler and inspiration of his people.</span><br /><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><br /></span></div>
