'Baby weight' refers to the weight that has gained not only by the growing fetus and the enlarging womb but also the deposition of fat around the abdomen. Once the baby is delivered, the mother can have a tough time trying to lose the extra weight. If the mother had some extra weight before pregnancy, it can actually make the process even tougher.<br /> <br /> Below, we will be discussing some of the basic ways to get rid of unwanted weight after a mother has delivered her baby.<br /> <br /> 1. Keep hydrated<br /> <br /> Drink plenty of water after pregnancy to make sure that dehydration is not an issue. The extra liquid that you consume will also contribute to a fuller feeling in the stomach, which also helps some to avoid eating too much food. Don't over-do it though, drink only what your body craves.<br /> <br /> 2. Do not have overly strict diets<br /> <br /> This may sound as surprising advice but trying to lose weight by following a strict diet can reduce the amount of nutrients that you passed down to your baby through breast milk. Weight loss is thought to be more healthy when it is done in a steady and slower pace, instead of trying to drop a lot of weight in a short period of time. Consuming healthy foods such as plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables are excellent at keeping hunger at bay and making sure the weight comes off gradually.<br /> <br /> 3. Be sure to exercise regularly<br /> <br /> Plain old exercise is still quite effective. Excess calories can be burned in many ways, including cardiovascular exercises like aerobics which will maintain muscles and bone density.
