All Things Google - a collection of tutorial videos embedded on a Slideshare

Well, today I got rather ambitious and thought I would gather a collection of the Google tutorials I have been learning from recently...12 videos... to see if adding a large amount of videos would work. It seems that it does work. Well, it was a lengthy affair because I first got all the urls incorrect. You have to use the url that shows under the video after clicking on <i>'Share'</i>. Two of the videos would just not take! Learners made use of MP3s on their cellphones, iPods, YouTube, Twitter, digital cameras and videos. It is hoped that the municipality might implement some of the suggestions through their Department Planning Programme. SchoolNet's webinar and podcast programme now in full force

This competition used to be known as the Innovative Teacher's Forum. This entitles me to myself and 50 of my students having the Plus account in which we can upload full length videos (maximum 200MB). Last year one of the Grade 5 classes participated in the ‘Monster project’ and many of the teachers around the world used Animoto to show everyone where they were at. Once you have posted a video it gives you a code which you can embed into any blog or wiki. This makes it very easy. Often with school videos I make them private so that they can only be seen by whoever has the YouTube address link. When we were on a video swap project with Denmark (Grade 6) we used YouTube’s private code for this. I sometimes think that parents will be happier with the use of School Tube because it is mainly for teachers. International Peace Day video - classes around the world working together

Two classes from local Fish Hoek schools responded to the blog postand subitted videos - The Rock Academy and Fish Hoek Primary. The Grade 4 Lafayette class created a final verson incorporating everyone's video which I have embedded below. It is so exciting when classes link with other classes around the world. In one of our pre-assignments before attending PIL Institute in Redmond, we were asked to discuss our views on 21st century teaching and learning, and also add artefacts, and place all of this in our Partners in Learning community site. Would you like to get involved in an international peace project?

Garrett is now looking for teachers and classes who would like to join in a new project.
