He had every reason to smile after topping the television news ratings.
But Ron Burgundy ends up swallowing a scorpion after his Winnebago crashes during a victory vacation in the new Anchorman 2 trailer.
The accident happens after the jolly newsman boasts to his team about the new deep fat fryer he had installed on the luxury vehicle.
SCROLL DOWN FOR TRAILER...
He tells his underlings: 'Who's hungry for some chimmy chongas? Best thing I ever did was install this deep frier in the 'Bago.'
However, the health and safety flaw of the appliance are soon brought to bear after the vehicle, which no-one is steering while on cruise control, crashes.
As the recreation vehicle tumbles so does the contents, with a bowling ball hitting Paul Rudd's Brian Fantana and David Koechner's Champion 'Champ' Kind having boiling oil splashed into his face.
But perhaps the most serious injury will be suffered by Ron himself, as a scorpion is shown going into his mouth as he screams in terror.
The trailer sheds new light on how Ron's life changes in the new video.
He loses his place on his beloved WBC News to his wife Veronica Cornerston, played by Christina Applegate, after an outburst prompted by his autocue lines being printed all in capitals.
The new face of the station is proudly displayed in a billboard that bills her 'the only name in news.'
But just when it seems all is lost for the moustachioed star, he manages to turn everything around by 'making news fun' after receiving a chance at redemption at a new 24 hour station.
The pumped anchor tells the producer who headhunts him for the role: 'I'm gonna do the thing that God put Ron Burgundy on this earth to do. Have salon quality hair and read the news.'
