Batman and Wonder Woman in the Next Man of Steel? Is This the Justice League Movie?

<div class="MsoNormal">I know what you’re thinking:  It seems like all anyone <a href="http://screenrant.com/justice-league-movie-2015-character-list/">does is speculate</a> about the Justice League Movie.  However, the latest news about the Man of Steel 2 film has Batman and Wonder Woman <a href="http://www.showbiznest.com/2013/11/batman-and-wonder-woman-join-next.html">joining Superman</a>, which means this could be a serious dry run for a full blown JL film.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Earlier this year “Man of Steel” bested a lot folks’ expectations by bringing in <a href="http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=superman2012.htm">$291 million</a> at the domestic box office and $371 million in the foreign box office, according to Box Office Mojo, which gives the sequel, even if <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-2476315/Ben-Affleck-bulks-play-Batman-Man-Of-Steel-sequel.html">Ben Affleck is playing Batman</a>, serious traction.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Having Wonder Woman pop up in the film is a natural extension of the DC Comics Universe, and really the story will have to convince me that it is 100% necessary.  According to IGN, the <a href="http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/10/15/guillermo-del-toro-says-justice-league-dark-and-the-john-constantine-tv-show-can-coexist">Justice League Dark film</a> headed by Guillermo del Toro is heating up as well, thanks to a television show centered around John Constantine to hit next year as well.  <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Basically, with the success of The Dark Knight Trilogy and the latest adventure of Superman, I’m not sure DC will ever have a better chance to push a Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman story into the next level.  The next Man of Steel could well be the Justice League Movie that many hope and dream about.<o:p></o:p></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Granted it is too early to say, but in Hollywood that $662 million global box office gross on a $225 million budget for Man of Steel means some serious green is at stake for a film well produced.  Here is hoping that Batman and Wonder Woman help push the agenda forward at a faster pace.<o:p></o:p></div>

John Constantine and Swamp Thing #37 Set for Massive Popularity Boost

<div class="MsoNormal">Okay loyal comic book enthusiasts, what is going to be the next hot back issue to pick up in the coming years?  I know what you’re thinking, having a bit of foresight is actually akin to a super power.  However, for me one of the best investments right now is Saga of the Swamp Thing #37, which is the debut of (The) John Constantine.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Just like the sports card market, which is driven by demand (got to love the old supply and demand point counterpoints), the number of fans a character has directly impacts the value of their appearances.  The scarcer the comic, the more high priced (and hard to find) it becomes, think of it as a seller’s market.  Key issues of books can relate greatly to the first appearance of a character, New Mutants #87, Incredible Hulk #181, and Uncanny X-Men #266 are just a few examples, like Swamp Thing #37 that pop into my head.  (First appearances of Deadpool, Wolverine, and Gambit for those not following the logic.)<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/square_small/0/9116/2197875-37.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/square_small/0/9116/2197875-37.jpg" /></a></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: x-small;">Image from <a href="http://www.comicvine.com/invunche/4005-74211/">Comic Vine</a></span></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">John Constantine is poised to gather a few more fans.  There is a Justice League Dark movie in the works, which according to Screen Rant might <a href="http://screenrant.com/justice-league-dark-heaven-sent-update-guillermo-del-toro/">make it to theaters before</a> the actual Justice League movie, and of course, NBC is working on debuting a <a href="http://www.theverge.com/2013/9/27/4777012/constantine-tv-series-is-being-developed-by-nbc">Constantine based television show</a>.  If done well, the result will be a few more fans of the old magic wielding chain smoking smart ass guy in a trench coat.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Hey the book is already pricey at the comic book store or on eBay, but you can find raw values anywhere from $20-$40.  Graded copies can get out of hand quickly, especially the high grades, because there just aren’t too many of these to go around.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal">The short end is that putting $40 to $80 down on a character with a massive following already add in a television show and a movie (oh, I loved the Keanu Reeves “Constantine” BTW, not the same as Hellblazer, but he owned the character he was presented), and the sky could be the limit.<o:p></o:p></div>

What is the Most Valuable DC Comics Villains Month 3D Cover?

<div class="MsoNormal">I know what you’re thinking.  You love the DC Comics Villains Month stunt covers, but you are wondering exactly which ones to buy and which ones will be worth the most.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">What is the most valuable 3D cover from DC Comics villains month?  Good question and a fair question.  As of right now, I would favor Batman Dark Knight 23.4 which is the Joker’s Daughter cover.  Bleeding Cool was <a href="http://www.bleedingcool.com/2013/08/23/speculator-corner-jokers-daughter-leads-the-pack-for-dc-3d-cover-demand/">tracking them a few weeksago</a> in the $30 range, and they have been selling on eBay for over $50 and some at $100.  That feat is amazing considering the comic does not even get released until later this week, but rumors of short prints and skewed demand are driving the price up.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Also the Harley Quinn cover in Detective Comics 23.2 has been achieving prices of around $20 to $25 on eBay, which is not bad for a book that is not that old.  Still long-term investment potential of any of the 3D villains covers is murky at best.  I can remember being laughed at for picking up as many Uncanny X-Men #266's as I could find (If only I would have knocked down some extra New Mutants 98's). the point is nobody knows what anyone will be chasing in a few months or a few years.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">Anyone old enough to remember the cover trickery in the 1990s is probably a bit leery of these kinds of stunts, but that does not seem to be stopping anyone from snatching the comics off of shelves across the United States.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">The stories have been all over the map as well.  While The Joker #1 cover was cool, the story itself might have been out there a bit too far, and the Lex Luthor #1 was interesting, but I’m not sure it lent anything new to the Forever Evil storyline (I guess we will all find out eventually). <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal">So that’s the easy answer to this question via some evaluation of sales on eBay.  Is it the right answer?  Who knows, in a couple of days we could all be talking about chasing Marvel Lego variants. <o:p></o:p></div>
