After the host Seahawks overcame a 21-point deficit, Steven Hauschka kicked a 27-yard field goal with 8 minutes 11 seconds left in the extra period.
At 8-1, Seattle is off to its best start. But the victory was far from easy against Tampa Bay, which fell to 0-8 for the first time since 1985.
Wilson threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin with 1:51 left in regulation to pull the Seahawks even. In overtime, Wilson led Seattle on a nine-play, 51-yard drive capped by Hauschka’s winner. The Seahawks tied a franchise record with their 12th straight home win.
Wilson finished 19 of 26 for 219 yards and 2 touchdowns.
“He’s just making the plays,” Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy said. “I tried to stay all over him all day. I tried.”
The Buccaneers were credited with six hits on Wilson but did not sack him.
“The dude is 5-6,” McCoy said, referring to Wilson, who is listed at 5 feet 11 inches. “It’s not fair, man.”
Lynch had 125 yards on 21 carries despite missing time in the first half with a sore knee. He rushed for 43 yards on Seattle’s first possession of the game, and in overtime he had runs of 10, 14 and 13 yards to help set up the winning kick.
Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon was 17 of 23 for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns. He managed the game almost flawlessly in the first half, completing 10 of his first 11 passes, but could not sustain drives in the second half.
COLTS 27, TEXANS 24 Andrew Luck threw three touchdown passes to help visiting Indianapolis rally from a 24-6 deficit, and Houston’s Randy Bullock missed a 55-yard field-goal attempt as time expired.
Texans Coach Gary Kubiak was taken to a hospital after collapsing while leaving the field at halftime. The Texans did not say what was wrong with Kubiak, 52, but they said he did not have a heart attack.
COWBOYS 27, VIKINGS 23 After Adrian Peterson’s 11-yard touchdown run gave Minnesota a 23-20 lead with 5:40 left, Tony Romo threw a 7-yard scoring pass to Dwayne Harris with 35 seconds remaining, lifting Dallas to a victory at home.
Peterson, an East Texas native playing for the first time at Cowboys Stadium, had 140 yards on 25 carries. Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, also facing his hometown team, threw for a touchdown and ran for another, but the Cowboys, led by Romo’s 337 yards and 2 touchdowns, bounced back from a tough loss at Detroit and handed Minnesota its fourth straight defeat.
CHIEFS 23, BILLS 13 Despite sputtering on offense and allowing 470 yards to Buffalo, visiting Kansas City capitalized on turnovers to remain the N.F.L.’s only unbeaten team.
Chiefs cornerback Sean Smith returned an interception 100 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. Later, with the score tied, 13-13, linebacker Tamba Hali scooped up a fumble by receiver T. J. Graham and returned it for an 11-yard score.
Bills quarterback Jeff Tuel, an undrafted rookie making his first career start, was 18 of 39 for 229 yards, with a 59-yard touchdown pass to Marquise Goodwin.
Kansas City had only 210 yards of offense, but it held an opponent to 17 points or fewer for the ninth straight time, tying the record set by Atlanta in 1977. The Chiefs (9-0) matched the best start in franchise history, set in 2003. They will have a bye week before an A.F.C. West showdown with the Broncos (7-1) on Nov. 17.
PATRIOTS 55, STEELERS 31 With 610 yards of offense, host New England scored the most points in an N.F.L. game this season and the most ever allowed by Pittsburgh.
Three Patriots receivers each surpassed 100 yards, and Stevan Ridley had 26 carries for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns.
“We are going to comb through this with a fine-tooth comb,” Steelers Coach Mike Tomlin said, “and those people who are lacking effort won’t be playing. It’s just that simple.”
REDSKINS 30, CHARGERS 24 Robert Griffin III completed 23 of 32 passes for 291 yards, and host Washington won in overtime after blowing a 10-point lead in the final minutes of the fourth quarter.
