LeBron James To Star In ‘Space Jam’ Sequel?
On Nov. 18, ‘Space Jam 2′ started trending on Twitter after a movie poster for the sequel surfaced, starring LeBron James!. So, is the Heat player starring in the sequel to the 1996 hit, ‘Space Jam,’ replacing Michael Jordan?
As if LeBron James and Michael Jordan didn’t already get compared enough! Lebron conducted two Twitter Q&As — one in August 2012 and one in October 2013. For some reason, his answer to one question caused a fan to create a movie poster, leading the Twitter-verse to believe he’d be starring in the film that, according to the poster, will hit theaters in 2014.
‘Space Jam 2′ — Will LeBron James Star In Sequel?
Sorry, Space Jam-mers this is just a hoax! In one of the question and answer sessions, Lebron was asked how he felt about Space Jam and he replied with, “I love that movie. Wish I could doSpace Jam 2!”
Then came the poster — yes, that was it! While there has a been a common comparison between MJ and LeBron, because of their two extremely successful careers as players, it would definitely cause some uproar among fans of the classic!
Michael Jordan: It’s LeBron’s Time
In the ongoing battle, that was almost entirely created by the fans, Michael has said that he would beat LeBron (and many other star players) in a one-on-one, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t appreciate him.
“Each person I mentioned feels he would win those battles, and of course those are the guys you think of,” MJ told ESPN.com in October. “Some of them I dreamed of playing when I got older, but they were past their primes by then.”
“I love what Kobe does, love him. And I love what LeBron does,” he continued. “It’s their stage now. It’s their time. I wasn’t saying that to go after any one of them. I wasn’t. But it’s being taken that way.”
As for all the talk that they have a rivalry, Michael finds it entertaining. LeBron even has said that MJ is a huge role model of his!
“It’s so much fun to talk about, but we can’t know,” Michael said. “We can never know, across generations. You imagine it. You think about what might happen, particularly with the guys you think are the best of the best and then say, ‘That was fun, but we don’t know.’ I said I ‘think’ I wouldn’t lose, and people are offended by that?”
Good point — there’s room for two all-star players, right? HollywoodLifers, do you want to see aSpace Jam 2 starring LeBron?
