A man staying at Justin Bieber's home was arrested on narcotics charges during the execution of a search warrant Tuesday by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Officers saw what they now believe is Xanax or ecstacy in plain sight and arrested the guest, Lil Za, a police report stated. Bail was set at $20,000. Lil Za faced additional charges, Los Angeles County officials said, after being re-arrested inside his jail cell for possible vandalism unrelated to the initial investigation, KABC reports.
Lil Za was released on bail Tuesday night.
Police are still testing the drugs, as they previously thought it was cocaine.
Bieber was not arrested and police said the singer was not connected to the drugs other than the person was staying at his home. The drugs were unrelated to the police search looking for evidence that Bieber was involved in an egg-throwing incident last week.
The singer was also not arrested nor exonerated of the felony vandalism charges stemming from an egging of Bieber's neighbor, who called police about around 7:40 p.m. on Jan. 9.
Bieber was confirmed as a suspect after his neighbor called police the night of Jan. 9. "The vandalism damage is estimated by the homeowner to be approximately $20,000," according to a police statement.
Police confirmed to ABC News Radio that with the damages to the neighbor's home exceeding $400, it is now a felony case. They said Bieber was at home when the warrant was served today and everyone there was cooperative.
On Jan. 9, police were called around 7:40 p.m. when the neighbor claimed the 19-year-old singer started throwing eggs at his house, according to a spokeswoman from the Sheriff's Department.
TMZ first broke the news, and has video it claims to be of the neighbor and Bieber shouting as the "Baby" singer threw eggs at the neighbor's house. The two men are heard yelling obscenities at each other before the neighbor tells someone to dial the police.
The video is too dark to see if it's actually Bieber. However, according to authorities, about 12 officers searched the singer's residence and police said Bieber was cooperative.
"He didn't give us a statement or talk to us at this time," police added, saying they expect to make contact through the singer's lawyer.
