Reported the New York Daily News:
Confronted with fences and signs warning them the park was closed, the 90 or so grizzled heroes — most of them from Mississippi and Iowa — simply moved them out of the way and marched inside to pay their respects.
By the time park police realized what was happening, hundreds of vets — many of them in wheel chairs — were already inside and refusing to leave."We deserve better," said one veteran.
