Yes, I know this is supposedly an American Idol statistics blog, but everyone was curious how well "The Voice"'s first marketable winner's album would do in sales. That winner is, of course, Season3 winner, Cassadee Pope's "Frame by Frame" album which was released on Tuesday (when Idol winner, Candice Glover was supposed to release as well.) HitsDailyDouble has the first week sales estimate for "Frame by Frame" to come in at 40K to 45K which would be respectable debut numbers for a typical country artist, but is nothing like the huge 150K+ debuts of recent Idol winners like Phillip Phillips or Scotty McCreery (or even another female country singer, Season 10's Lauren Alaina who sold 69K her first week.) I am sure a lot of people will make these same comparisons, and since Candice's album was delayed until next year, Idol will not have to worry about her numbers in comparison. Seven days from now we will also have the first week sales estimates for Scotty McCreery's sophomore album, "See You Tonight", and more than likely they will be substantially higher than Cassadee's numbers, despite the fact that her single, "Wasting All These Tears", has been receiving a lot more radio play than Scotty's single.

If Cassadee's first week sales numbers were sorted with all the other American Idol, X Factor and The Voice winners, it would look something like this:

1) 400K, AI Season 2 (Ruben Studdard "Soulful" 2003)
2) 315K, AI Season 4 (Carrie Underwood "Some Hearts", 2005)
3) 298K, AI Season 5 (Taylor Hicks, "Taylor Hicks" 2006)
4) 297K, AI Season 1 (Kelly Clarkson "Thankful" 2003)
5) 280K, AI Season 7 (David Cook "David Cook" 2008)
6) 240K, AI Season 3 (Fantasia Barrino "Free Yourself" 2004)
7) 197K, AI Season 10 (Scotty McCreery "Clear as Day" 2011)
8) 169K, AI Season 11 (Phillip Phillips "World From The Side of the Moon" 2012)
9) 119K, AI Season 6 (Jordin Sparks "Jordin Sparks" 2007)
10) 80K, AI Season 8 (Kris Allen "Kris Allen" 2009)
11) 40-45K, The Voice Season 3 (Cassadee Pope "Frame by Frame" 2013)
12) 39K, AI Season 9 (Lee DeWyze "Live It Up" 2010)
13) 17K, X Factor Season 2 (Tate Stevens "Tate Stevens" 2013)
14) 10K, The Voice Season 1 (Javier Colon, "Come Through For You" 2011)

MIA: The Voice Season 2 (Jermaine Paul), X Factor Season 1 (Melanie Amaro)
TBD: The Voice Season 4 (Danielle Bradbery - Nov 2013), AI Season 12 (Candice Glover- Feb 2014)

So Cassadee does have the most successful release from "The Voice" (or from the "X Factor") but Danielle Bradbery is releasing next month, and they all pale in comparison to the American Idol winners, even including the more recent ones (Scotty, Phillip). It will be interesting to see where Danielle and Candice fit into the list as well.
