I had mentioned in a post on my other blog that rhythmic gymnasts don’t really get a fair shake along the grand scale of the athletic landscape, and while the ceremonial first pitch delivered by South Korea’s Shin Soo-ji is fascinating in its own right, it is causing a bit of a YouTube sensation. I know what you’re thinking, it’s just a pitch in a South Korean baseball game, but it is more the display of talent (and flexibility) that are really catching in the video.
According to NESN, Shin Soo-ji tossed the ball before a gamebetween the Doosan Bears and Samsung Lions in Seoul. Granted, the pitch was not a strike, but just like a great comedy it’s the delivery that really matters. This girl gets high marks for poise, flair, flexibility, and confidence, because just getting the ball to the catcher is a big deal in my book.
The viral video has since climbed over two million views. I hope Shin Soo-ji is ready for a little more attention from her nation and the world after this.
