Waltz won for playing Dr. King Schultz, a dentist-turned-bounty hunter who frees slave Django, played by
Jamie Foxx.
He dedicated his win to the film’s writer and director,
Quentin Tarantino. “We participated in a hero’s journey — the hero being Quentin.”
The 85th Academy Awards are being held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night, in a televised ceremony hosted by Seth MacFarlane.
