JK Rowling to Develop New Movie Based on Harry Potter World

<div class="MsoNormal">I know what you’re thinking, the world needs another Harry Potter movie.  Luckily it seems that JK Rowling, the brilliant mind behind the Potterverse that should have her imagination insured for a billion dollars, is getting ready to develop an extension to the wizarding world made famous by Harry, Ron, and Hermione.  <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">According to Bloomberg, Rowling will be <a href="http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2013-09-12/j-dot-k-dot-rowling-will-pen-a-new-film-set-in-harry-potters-world">writing a screenplay</a>for Warner Bros. (who else, she only made them a billion dollars already) that is an adaption of “<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0439321603?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creativeASIN=0439321603&linkCode=xm2&tag=whisgooninmym-20">Fantastic Beasts and Whereto Find Them</a>.”  As Potter fans already know, that book was written as part of fund raising effort by Rowling and was an entertaining read.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">The movie adaption will be <a href="http://insidemovies.ew.com/2013/09/12/jk-rowlingharry-potter-fantastic-beasts/">set in New York</a> some 70 years before Harry enters the wizarding world, according to EW.  So while the movie will lack Harry and his faithful companions, one has to wonder if some of the older faces around Hogwarts will not make an appearance or two.  <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal">While I’m usually the one complaining about sequels and franchises not coming up with new ideas (really “Finding Dory”?), this is one of those ideas that really captures the essence of what spin-offs should be.  There will be just enough of the Potter world in the book to be familiar, but at the same time “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” should provide a nice and entertaining story about the writing of textbook (okay nobody knows what it will be about because it hasn’t been written yet), but let the speculation run wild.<o:p></o:p></div>
