That cooler regime holds in place today with west and northwest breezes that occasionally gust over 20 miles per hour, perhaps pushing 30 in spots. There will be more sun than yesterday, which will help offset the chilled breeze blowing in, with only a few passing clouds around. Those clouds will be coming down off of the Lakes and will be thinning over the region thanks to downsloping off of the mountains.<br /><br />Temperatures are starting mainly in the 30's this morning and will warm into the 50-53 range across the region early this afternoon. Most locations pick up less than a quarter inch of rain, many will pick up just a tenth or two at most.<br /><br />Showers will taper off from west to east during the early afternoon hours.<br /><br />Our mild start this morning will cool in the afternoon with the passage of the front, with northwest breezes picking up at 12-18 miles per hour, perhaps gusting higher than that in the afternoon hours.  After midday highs in the lower 60's for the city and points southeast, and upper 50's northwest, we should see temperatures drop back a few degrees in the afternoon hours. Most places will ease back into the 55-60 range by dinner as west and northwest winds take over. While sunshine may not necessarily dominate the landscape, it will be milder out compared to what we experienced on Sunday and Monday. Temperatures pop into the lower and middle 60's this afternoon with a varied mix of clouds and sunshine around town.  Arguably, skies will be cloudier than sunny through the day but there will be enough bright moments to help offset the low and mid clouds around.<br /><br />That said, there could be some drizzle and fog holding tight north and west of the city that could limit just how mild things get in Allentown, Reading, and points north and west of there. A wave of low pressure will push along the front that crossed the region yesterday, bringing showers offshore and perhaps to Wildwood or Cape May during the course of the morning. As the day progresses, nicer weather overall takes over.<br /><br />Expect highs today in the mid and upper 60's through the region. West winds will blow at 7 to 14 miles per hour. It may take until the afternoon for all of the region to get out of the showery regime, with south and east the last to see showers end. If you're north and west, we should see things dry out by as early as midday.<br /><br />A line of heavy rain and wind is across Central PA and is marching east this morning, with a severe storm watch out across the "T" out to our west until 10 AM. Thunder is limited with this line but the threat for gusty winds is not.<br /><br />Some sunshine will break out to the west and northwest in the midday and afternoon hours, perhaps reaching Philly before dinner. Sunshine may not break through the cloud deck at the Shore until this evening.<br /><br />Southerly and southwesterly breezes at 15 to 25 miles per hour will gust higher this morning, especially until the band of showers pushes through, and then in areas where the sun breaks out. We should see winds wind down towards dinner and into the evening hour. Wind advisories are out for everyone except Sussex County, Delaware until 2 PM.<br /><br />Temperatures will bounce around a bit today -- Philly is 72 at 5 AM and will probably see its highs for the day occur before the front crosses the region. Temperatures won't drop dramatically behind the front, probably holding steady for the balance of the day. While we may not see a ton of sunshine tomorrow, a warm front will lift far enough north to bring warmer conditions to the Delaware Valley.<br /><br />Not to mention higher dew points -- we could see them push north of 60 tomorrow, reminding you of what humidity is.<br /><br />We've nudged temperatures around a bit tomorrow -- I'm a bit more aggressive on temperatures for Philly and points south, reflective of the fact we will have a nice push of warmth aloft and at the surface as winds increase through the afternoon hours. North of the city will have a tougher time warming as much but should get into the 60's rather easily.  The question turns to just "how warm" we get -- we're projecting mid 60's in Allentown, upper 60's along the PA Turnpike, with around or just above 70 for everyone else.  If we don't get enough brightening temperatures could be a few degrees cooler. Temperatures won't be much milder than they were yesterday but humidity levels will be a couple of notches higher across the region as this lifts northeast.<br /><br />Along with the warm front comes a chance of a few showers as the front lifts through. It doesn't look like everyone gets in on the shower activity but areas south of the city could see showers later this morning, with some drizzle and fog lurking through midmorning elsewhere.<br /><br />By afternoon, we should break out into at least some sunshine and temperatures should respond, warming into the lower 60's for most locations. We could perhaps see a 62 or 63 in a few spots along I-95 on points south as well. Today and tomorrow will be a step back in temperature before we warm on Thursday out ahead of a storm system. <br /><br />In terms of overall weather today, it will be a pretty nice day but one that features a mix of clouds and sun overall. A mix of stratus (morning hours) and mid and high level clouds (afternoon) will keep us from being fully bright and blue in the sky cover department, although there could be some sunnier periods in the course of the day. With north and northeast breezes nudging through the region over the course of the day, temperatures will be a few degrees cooler for highs today.<br /><br />Expect mid (north) and upper (everywhere else) 50's for highs this afternoon.
