Acer announced first smartphone with 4K recording in Berlin at IFA 2013 on 2nd September. The term 4K refers to the horizontal resolution (instead of the vertical) of these formats, which are all on the order of 4,000 pixels. The 6-inch Liquid S2 has comes with the tag of first 4K Ultra HD recording capability smartphone. 4K UHD has twice the horizontal and vertical resolution of the 1080p HD format, with four times as many pixels overall. The resolution of 4K UHD is 3840-by-2160.
