Job Description:
The E-BEAM Division provides industry leading electron beam review and inspection solutions for worldwide semiconductor IC manufacturers. The E-BEAM Division portfolio of products includes hardware and software solutions for electron beam review and inspection and automatic classification systems. These products are essential for the IC manufacturers as they provide critical capabilities for the development and implementation of their advanced IC processes. The E-BEAM division is committed to support our customers to achieve performance entitlement of our solution and we effectively partner with our customers from their early research and development phase to the high volume in-line manufacturing implementation specific for their process needs. The division consists of a global team located in US, Singapore and India.

Responsibilities:
KLA-Tencor is seeking a design/manufacturing engineer with extensive experience with high vacuum semiconductor processing equipment to implement best known manufacturing processes with our Singapore manufacturing team and provide design improvement feedback/input to US based development engineering
Candidate will work in manufacturing engineering and with groups within the manufacturing organization, production floor, supply chain management, and external suppliers.  This person will interface with rest of engineering team including systems, electronics and optics. Also interact with program managers.

a) Responsible for directing and institutionalizing activities in the system assembly process, from parts received to installation at both KLA-Tencor and it’s vendors.
b) Perform vendor audits.
c) Provide oversight to the testing and feasibility studies of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies, and packaging for new and existing products.
d) Direct the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.
e) Evaluate manufacturing process to insure they meet vacuum cleanliness requirements.
f) Ensures that proper documentation and procedures are provided to the appropriate functional areas.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Extensive hands-on experience in high / ultra-high vacuum system. He/She can assemble and integrate vacuum system, perform electro-mechanical interfaces, testing and trouble shooting.
2) Be able to select and qualify components and parts as well as spec and communicate cleaning and handling protocol for high/ultra-high vacuum systems.
3) He/she should have solid knowledge and experience on how to manage and control chemical and particle contamination during the design and integration phases.
4) Single handed he/she can trouble shoot and fix vacuum leak using industry standard vacuum leak equipment and techniques. Can perform pump down and pressure rise analysis.
5) Be able to select and qualify vendors.
6) Be able to select and qualify tooling, metrology equipment and instrumentation and come up with appropriate processes to facilitate manufacturability and enhance yield.
7) Good communicator.
8) He/she should have experience working and in adhering to class 100 clean room protocol.
9) He/She have experience with reliability and manufacturing improvement plans.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 10 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 7 years of experience.
