Clouds and stars will be mixed through the night, but these extra clouds will help keep temperatures up.  Lows will hold near 50 in Philadelphia with the suburbs in the mid to upper 40s.

Thursday (Halloween) may start off with plenty of clouds, but I do expect some breaks of sun by mid to late morning.  These sunny breaks, along with a south-southwest breeze, will allow for temperatures to warm to around 70 by day's end.  The weather looks great for trick-or-treating and jackets won't even be needed!  This will be the last day of a 6:00 PM or later sunset for the year.

As a cold front approaches our region, showers will develop after midnight Thursday night.  Friday morning's commute will be wet and windy, but the ride home will be mainly dry except for extreme southern and eastern locations of our area.  Friday could end up warmer than our forecast high of 70 -- in fact, some higher resolution modeling is suggesting mid 70s, but we'll leave it at 70 for now because it all depends on the timing of the cold front.  Cooler air will slowly build in behind the front for the weekend, so the second half of the weekend will be cooler than the first.  Next week will feature a warming trend through midweek before a cold front could bring us cooler weather again by the end of the week.
