Reporter Molly Balkenbush at NBC-29 covered the story:
Bill Henry, the project creator, says he hopes the memorial is more than a stone monument. He wants it to be a living museum dedicated to the people who lost their mountain land to make way for the national park.Tonight's meeting is open to the public.
Henry says he hopes Monday night's meeting will get the project up and going.
"We're going to start forming committees tomorrow. We're going to ask for a design committee. We're going to try to have people get involved in starting initial fundraising, we're going to start working on, have a committee work on where we can locate the project," Henry said.
