Without a doubt the Pitbull featuring Christina Aguilerasong “Feel This Moment” is a bona fide hit, but many folks are finding something oddly familiar about the song.  Luckily thanks to YouTube a side by side comparison is possible.  Granted if you’re a child of 1980’s you probably recognize the hook of the iTunes hit:



For those of you not acquainted with music from that particular decade, take a listen to the old “Take on Me” from a-ha:



I know what you’re thinking; you spotted that way before I did.  Unfortunately, the story about thesample actually appeared on Billboard.com way back in October of last year.  Depending on how you feel about sampling, you might approve or hate the new song on that premise.  However, recycling hits from the past is not necessarily a bad thing, especially considering the addictive nature of this particular riff, because it is a win-win scenario for both singles (especially on the download charts).  Taking creativity to the next level (or just a different direction) is necessary to keep things moving forward in music, movies, books, and video games.
