Cheers and Happy Monday Chuckleheads!!
Boy Howdy, did I ever have a helluva fun day yesterday, and you know what?
I didn’t really go anywhere or spend much money, and still, I had such a good time that I was unable to post last night.
Allow me to walk you through a day off in the life of Matty-Boy…
Schmoop came out at 6:30 A.M. and woke me up as I had requested the night before. She went back to bed; I went to pee, and then I went to the kitchen and turned on the coffee.
I turned on the “news” that is Fox and Friends, sipped on my coffee, and then BAM!!
Some young, dumb ass chicks ran their car into a power pole just a few feet down from the Bagwine digs. There was wailing, gnashing of the teeth, and then the cops, the tow company, an ambulance, and the power company showed up and it was really pissing me off. I was like…
Jesus Christ it’s 6:52 in the A.M. folks!! I have to write and record a bunch of shit for our that airs at Noon…so issue the citation, transport the injured, and power guy? Don’t you dare fuck with the power pole because I need electricity to do whats I gots to do!!
I wrote, recorded, and uploaded my bits to the IWS Radio studio and by then it was about 10:40 A.M., so a celebratory beer was in order.
As I sipped on my beer and much to Schmoop’s chagrin, my OCD played and replayed the three files I had just previously written and recorded. And then, after posting show notices on Facebook, Twitter, and making notes to myself, it was Noon which means…Show Time!!
Jay and I gracefully and professionally once again were providing quality entertainment at a fair price when we called our last minute guest…Greg…The Greginator…THE G-MAN.
Talking from the Circle G Ranch, he provided the masses with folksy, homespun wit and wisdom for over twenty minutes. He was in a word, awesome, and will certainly be back on the IWS Radio Show in the near future.
Upon completion of another award winning radio show, I made the short drive to the Beer Mine to pick up libation and smokes and returned home. I drank a couple beers and took a one hour nap…it is now 4:30 P.M.
I bounced around my social media sites of choice, tipped a few more beers and then…the phone rang. It was my brother Party Marty, and he was calling me while sitting upon his golf cart and delighting in a good Sunday buzz.
After joking, planning a graduation party for Ryno and our niece, and making fun of everything and everyone for at least ninety minutes and six more beers, we hung up.
It was time to eat. I heated up some delicious leftover sausage and scalloped potato casserole that Schmoop had made; ate it while on the couch, and…
That was all she wrote.
According to Schmoop, she came out to the living room at 9:30 P.M. to find me asleep on the couch with shoes on, and mouth agape.
That’s what I call a good day. I love doing the show with Jayman. I got to talk to the G-Man who I haven’t really talked to in ten years, and I partied over the phone with my brother Marty.
Good times, good beer, good people, and good food. What’s not to like?
Cheeers!!
