Position: Systems Software Engineer

Job Description:
The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor is the world leader in design and manufacturing of systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects through optical inspection of patterned wafers for semiconductor manufacturers to ramp and maintain yields for their products.
Responsibilities:
Analyze software requirements, design, implement and test system control software for next generation Semiconductor Wafer Inspection machines. This includes documenting the requirements and design, implementing the design and getting the documents and code peer reviewed. This person will also be responsible for system integration and testing of software, firmware and hardware related to the features being developed.
The software is primarily written in Java, is highly multi-threaded, uses JNI, RMI and Corba, and is distributed on multiple networked PCs running various operating systems. A small amount of Java Swing development will also be necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Experienced with Object-Oriented software analysis and design using UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, Java and C/C++ programming.
2) Experience in developing and debugging large high-level machine control software applications.
3) Requires good knowledge of multi-threaded/parallel processing applications.
4) Good software documentation skills are required.
5) Semiconductor equipment experience preferred. System control and image/data processing experience a plus.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 4 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 2 years of experience
