As we prepare to mark the centenary of the outbreak of First World War, ominous parallels are being drawn between rising tension between Japan and China and that between Germany and Britain before the outbreak of the World War. Such comparisons are relevant. Asia and it's history is unique .... and one should look at the tensions in the region from this perspective and not from a European one. As to the possibility of a future World War starting in Asia .... I just do not see it. But as to the possibility of a regional conflict .... unfortunately .... between countries like China and Japan, or China and India .... the possibility may be very remote but .... it is still a possibility.
