Job description:
Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Engineer on the team you will be responsible for the development of subassemblies, covering the complete design process from requirements specification to feasibility studies, analysis and FEA modeling, conceptual and detailed design using ProE, detail drawings, procurement of prototype parts, prototype testing, system integration, and handoff to manufacturing. A particular focus of this position will be analytical and experimental validation and optimization of challenging mechanisms and opto-mechanical designs.

Preference will be given to a self-motivated individual capable of planning and driving development projects and with the potential to lead subsystem teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods.
2.Very strong analytical problem solving skills in the structural, dynamic, thermal and fluid domains, and involving both first order calculations as well as FEA methods.
3.Experience in precision mechanics and mechanisms.
4.Skilled at hands-on lab tests, automated data acquisition, and data analysis.
5.Experience with solid CAD, preferably ProEngineer.
6.Experience in several of these areas is desirable, but not required: opto-mechanical systems, optics, optics alignment, design of semiconductor equipment or similar instruments, vacuum systems, machine tools, motion controls, electronics, lasers, CFD, Ansys, data acquisition systems such as LabView, measurement instrumentation.

Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic)
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
