Position: Applications Engineer

Job Description:
KLA-Tencor has an opening for an Applications Development Engineer in our EBEAM division, which designs and manufactures Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) wafer inspection and review equipment. based in Milpitas, CA
Responsibilities:
• Product penetration/adoption and process optimization at customer facilities and at factory. This includes training customers and other apps engineers, handling/driving local apps escalation process, investigating customer technical needs/problems and providing solutions, conducting final acceptance, demonstrating products, and understanding competitive situations, methodology, and performance group analysis. Report technology development and new applications to marketing. Support pre-sale and post-sale activities.
• Characterization new systems and features. This includes designing and conducting experiments, collecting data, publishing results and recommendations in the form of applications notes, best known methods or characterization studies.
• Conduct complex demonstrations in front customers
• Work experience in semiconductor processing or equipment industry preferred. Candidates must be desiring to travel up to 50% on short notice and enjoy working in other cultures. Team work is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must. Excellent English communications are required, and competencies in Mandarin or Korean are all plusses.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters with several years of experience or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or Material Science Engineering. Worked with analytical tools used for semiconductor processing or material analysis.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.
OR
Doctorate (Academic)
