About the Business Unit:
FaST Division:
KLA-Tencor's FaST (Film and Scatterometry Technology) division is a one of the core groups of KLA-Tencor's metrology business. The FaST division conceives, develops manufactures and markets film and optical CD metrology equipment for the front end semiconductor manufacturing process counting all major semiconductor manufacturers amongst its key customers.
The FaST Division is a $200M division and has over 170 employees worldwide. The division is primarily located in Milpitas, CA where the main engineering group is located but has some satellite engineering groups in India and Israel.
Job Description:
1. Directs and guides the activities of a research or technical design function responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
2. Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Prepares and presents reports outlining the outcome of technical projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
3. Participates with other senior managers to establish strategic plans and objectives. Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations’ effective achievement of objectives.
4. Regularly interacts with executives and/or major customers. Interactions frequently involve special skills, such as negotiating with customers or management or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
5. Directs and controls the activities of a broad functional area through several department managers within the company. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.
Desired Skills & Experience:
1. At least 7-8 years experience in management and design of high speed data acquisition and signal processing systems.
2. Data acquisitions systems involve use of optical detectors, e.g. CCDs, measuring light properties at different wavelengths.
3. Signal processing may require use of FPGAs, ADC, DAC, microcontrollers, etc.
4. Should have strong systems controls background preferably in semiconductor equipment industry.
5. Knowledge of optical metrology systems preferred but not a must.
6. Should have strong working knowledge of high speed digital communications and network systems, e.g. USB, Ethernet, IEEE-1394, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctorate (Academic) with at least 5 years of experience.
OR
Master's Level Degree with at least 6 years of experience.
OR
Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 7 years of experience.
