<BR><br />A l'initiative du Secrétariat d’Etat chargé de la Solidarité et de l’<a href="http://www.orse.org/">Observatoire sur la Responsabilité Sociétale des Entreprises</a> (ORSE), un guide pratique a été réalisé afin d'accompagner les entreprises dans leurs négociations en faveur de l’égalité professionnelle. Cf. Elaine Pagels and the Nag Hammadi enthusiasts. Perhaps we need a theologian like Irenaeus to defend the orthodox faith again. We don't have one, but we have something better -- the Wild River Grill in Reno. Specifically, their seared scallops appetizer is by far the best thing I have ever tasted. To eat just one of those scallops is ot know that creation was a splendid idea.<br /><br />But one cannot eat such a delicacy on a regular basis. For day to day sustenance, there is Tropical Smoothie in Las Vegas, tucked discreetly into the shoppoing center on the corner of Pecos and Russell. A number of life boosters are afforded there. My personal favorite: the buffalo chicken wrap. Warning: it is spicy! Your mouth will know something has been there long after it has gone. But at least of an ex-Texan fond of heat in food, this sandwich is delicious and perfectly balanced by a barely ripe banana on the side.

Sacramento-Reno Whirl Wind

What a whirl wind the end of last week was! Two days of battle in Sacramento warding off movements for "centralization, standardization, and a higher professionalization" of the Church. Arrrgh! I don't know whether I am into critical theory (Habermas, et al), a more charismatic sense of the church, or maybe I am just a curmudgeon. But I believe the whole church, right down to the loose change counting and light bulb changing, has to be a human, relational Lake Wobegon kind of organism -- not a corporate system of FAX's and forms.<br /><br />Things were much better, but considerably busier, when I got to Reno: 6 meetings, 4 worship services, and a 4-hour workshop, plus a dinner with some church folks one night and a dinner with the new confirmands the next.<br /><br />It is so very good to see Trinity on track these days. The spirit of the congregation is warm and upbeat. They are a center of hope and energy. I met parish nurses to help with our new Desert Angels ministry, a development person to help us find ways to fund diocesan mission, and someone who is actually learning about stewardship -- our Achilles' heel.<br /><br />My time at Trinity left me encouraged, uplifted, and inspired. Along the way we confirmed and received a batch of new members, mostly young adults. There were about 7, a nice number, but the main thing wasn't the number. It was that they had genuinely bonded with each other and truly grasped what the Episcopal Church is about. Rev. Stefani is clearly gifted at building community. That is what we need. I am grateful beyond words for her ministry at Trinity. And the children's service, crafted by the Rev. Kathy Hopner, was the best of all -- lots of kids worshiping joyfully alongside their young parents. The church in Reno is just beginning. That is how the church should be -- always just beginning.

Plan contre le chômage des jeunes : parution de 4 décrets

<BR><br />Quatre décrets d'application du "plan d'urgence" contre le chômage des jeunes sont parus mardi 16 juin 2009 au Journal officiel, et instituent des aides pour favoriser l’embauche des jeunes apprentis ou de salariés de moins de 26 ans en contrat de professionnalisation. <br /><br />Les décrets fixent le régime de ces aides et prime : employeurs concernés, formalités, modalités de versement, etc.<br /><br />Les décrets s'appliquent aux <strong>embauches réalisées depuis le 24 avril</strong>, date d'annonce du plan chiffré au total à 1,3 milliard d'euros, dont 40 % sous forme de primes aux employeurs (546 millions d'euros).<br /><br /><strong><span style="LINE-HEIGHT: 113%;color:#6633ff;">Prime à l’embauche de stagiaires en CDI</span></strong><br />Le <a href="http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000020740878">décret n 2009-692 du 15 juin 2009</a> prévoit qu'une prime à l’embauche peut être attribuée aux employeurs qui, entre le 24 avril 2009 et le 30 septembre 2009, embauchent, en CDI à temps plein ou à temps partiel égal ou supérieur à un mi-temps, à l’exclusion des contrats aidés des secteurs marchands et non marchands (CAE, CIE, etc.), des jeunes âgés de moins de 26 ans à la date de la conclusion du contrat de travail, qui ont effectué, au sein de la structure procédant à l’embauche, un ou plusieurs stages d’une durée cumulée d’au moins 8 semaines, régis par l’article 9 de la loi du 31 mars 2006 « pour l’égalité des chances » ou les articles D. 337-4, D. 337-34 et D. 337-64 du code de l’éducation, et ayant débuté entre le 1er mai 2008 et le 24 avril 2009.<br /><br /><strong>Montant de la prime</strong> : 3 000 €. Elle est versée, par moitié, en deux fois à l’employeur.<br /><br /><strong><span style="LINE-HEIGHT: 113%;color:#6633ff;">Aide à l’embauche pour les employeurs de moins de 50 salariés recrutant des apprentis supplémentaires</span></strong><br />Le <a href="http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000020740894">décret n 2009-693 du 15 juin 2009</a> institue une aide à l’embauche pour les employeurs de moins de cinquante salariés recrutant des apprentis supplémentaires.<br /><br />Cette aide est accordée pour toute embauche, en contrat d’apprentissage, réalisée entre le 24 avril 2009 et le 30 juin 2010 ayant pour effet d’accroître le nombre des contrats d’apprentissage par rapport aux contrats d’apprentissage en cours d’exécution, tous établissements confondus, au 23 avril 2009.<br /><br /><strong>Montant de l’aide</strong> : 1 800 euros par embauche. Le tiers de l’aide est accordé à l’issue des 3 premiers mois d’exécution du contrat. Le solde de l’aide est versé à l’issue du 6e mois d’exécution du contrat.<br /><br /><strong><span style="LINE-HEIGHT: 113%;color:#6633ff;">Aide à l’embauche des jeunes de moins de 26 ans en contrat de professionnalisation</span></strong> <br />Le <a href="http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000020740914">décret n 2009-694 du 15 juin 2009</a> institue une aide pour toute embauche réalisée entre le 24 avril 2009 et le 30 juin 2010 de jeunes âgés de moins de 26 ans en contrat de professionnalisation. L’âge du jeune est apprécié au jour de la signature du contrat.<br /><br />L’aide est accordée pour les embauches réalisées au moyen du contrat de professionnalisation mentionné aux articles L. 6325-1 et L. 6325-5 du code du travail dont la durée effective est supérieure à un mois.<br /><br />La transformation d’un contrat de professionnalisation à durée déterminée conclu avant le 24 avril 2009 en contrat de professionnalisation à durée indéterminée ouvre également droit à cette aide.<br /><br /><strong>Montant de l’aide</strong> : 1 000 €. Ce montant est porté à 2 000 € si le jeune embauché est titulaire d’un diplôme, d’un titre ou d’un niveau de formation de niveau V, V bis ou VI, conformément à la nomenclature interministérielle des niveaux de formation.<br /><br />La moitié de l’aide est accordée à l’issue du deuxième mois d’exécution du contrat de professionnalisation. Le solde de l’aide est versé à l’issue du sixième mois d’exécution du contrat.<br /><br />Pour les salariés à temps partiel, le montant de l’aide est calculé à due proportion du temps de travail effectif.<br /><br /><strong><span style="LINE-HEIGHT: 113%;color:#6633ff;">Aide à l’embauche d’apprentis pour les employeurs de 11 salariés et plus</span></strong><br />Le <a href="http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000020740930">décret n 2009-695 du 15 juin 2009</a> institue une aide à l’embauche d’apprentis pour les employeurs de 11 salariés et plus.<br /><br />Cette aide est accordée pour toute embauche réalisée au moyen du contrat d’apprentissage, dont la durée effective est supérieure à deux mois.<br /><br />L’aide est versée pour une durée de douze mois, au titre des gains et rémunérations versés à compter du 1er mai 2009 aux apprentis embauchés entre le 24 avril 2009 et le 30 juin 2010.<br /><BR>

Pasta Tuesday

<p>For some reason today I hit snooze for over an hour! Kyle and I stayed up late Monday night having a good talk, so I have to say it was worth it, even though I was dragging!</p> <p>I ate my cereal on the run (not literally!) this morning. I had <strong>honey nut cheerios</strong> and a <strong>small sliced banana</strong> for <strong>5 points</strong>! And that is just what I did. (<strong>35 minutes total</strong>, there and back) And to think I thought I was running behind schedule, not even, I was 15 minutes early! And I am happy to say I maintained for the 4th week. Only 2 more to go!! I cannot wait!! And I learned about a new class from a fellow WW member that the Y is offering that I REALLY want to check out! Hopefully I will have some news on this on Thursday!</p> <p>When I got home from WW I was searching the cupboards trying to figure out what would make my tummy happy! My Kind Of Monday

<p>Well it didn’t start out like I wanted…3am throwing up for a few hours! Ugh!! So I called in sick to work and went back to work. I woke up around 9am and felt pretty good. So I took my time getting ready just to make sure I was better. I am guessing it was some food that didn’t agree with me…ie Pizza Hut?!?!</p> <p>I made a yummy bowl of <strong>oatmeal</strong> for breakfast with <strong>chocolate PB2</strong> and a <strong>small ban</strong>ana for <strong>4 points</strong>. Well come to find out it was going to take over an hour to fix it and so we shut down the office. So that means I only worked <strong>11-2:30</strong>!!! Very nice!! :) I talked to my neighbor when I got home and the whole power outage was all thanks to a <strong>squirrel</strong> in the <strong>transformer!</strong></p> <p>I tanned when I got off work (need to have a little glow for SIL’s wedding in less than 2 weeks!!) and then headed home for some much needed nutrition!! It was after three and I hadn’t eaten lunch yet! Too late even though I had a late breakfast! I had the last piece of left over <strong>creamy chicken bake</strong> for <strong>6 points</strong>. Laid Back Sunday

<p>Our last day of the weekend was pretty low key. We slept in, I caught up on blogs, and then headed out to get some groceries. Kyle’s parents called and wanted to go out for lunch so, of course, we said sure. Of all places though, they wanted to go to <strong>Pizza Hut</strong>! It was alright though, who doesn’t love pizza?!?!? I had <strong>2 slices of canadian bacon and pineapple</strong> and <strong>1 breadstick</strong>. </p> <p>We picked up a few groceries and then headed Wal-Mart to get a few other things Kyle wanted. He is going to try a few things recommended by a friend that will hopefully help some of the pain he’s having when we’re running. He is going to start taking  Fish Oil and Glucosamine Chondroitin. </p> <p>When we got home I cut up all our produce so it’s ready for the week and cleaned up afterwards. Love In Tonopah

The triangular scaffolding with a pulley at the top and a bucket hanging from a rope looped over the pulley is a “head frame.” I learned the name from Minnie who is 89. She knows such things because she has spent all her 89 good years in Tonopah. Her father was a miner because he loved mining. Her husband was a miner and he loved it too. They both died of silicosis. Perhaps we all die of love – either the want of it or from the spending of our lives in love. And Minnie’s story is a love story.<br /><br />Tony was a 26 year old in Saginaw, Michigan doing a little of this, then a little of that, until he got a letter from his father. Tony’s dad was mining in Tonopah, having a great time. He thought Tony should give it a try. So he did. He packed up and moved to Tonopah where he rented a little cabin next to a dairy. One day the farmer asked Tony to help him deliver the milk. That’s how it happened that when 16 year old Minnie answered the door early one morning in 1937, she met and fell in instant love with the new milkman.<br /><br />Not long afterward, Tony and Minnie eloped to Hawthorne, where they were secretly married, then returned to life as usual in Tonopah. Months later, Minnie fessed up to her mother who by the way was from the old country in Eastern Europe. It did not set well, but eventually everyone came around and became a happy family. Minnie has 4 adult children all of whom live in Tonopah. Following the example her Capulet style wedding, 3 of her classmates eloped to Hawthorne that year.<br /><br />The last time I blogged about Tonopah, I was quoting David Kranes’ Life On The Moon. But this time, the story that seems more in point is Marjorie Brown’s Lady In Boomtown, a true life memoir and another love story. Marjorie was a starry eyed 18 year old in 1903 when young lawyer Hugh Brown proposed and asked her to follow him from San Francisco to Tonopah where he would handle the legalities attendant to all that brand new gold and silver. Love takes certain heroism. Minnie and Marjorie had it.<br /><br />So as you have surmised, last Sunday was my visit to St. Mark’s, Tonopah, a small but boldly resilient congregation. After breakfast at Tonopah Station, where none of the young folks knew what a head frame was, we headed over to church for a worship. Afterward, we had Sam’s barbeque ribs, Bonnie’s new recipe for beans, and a lot of good conversation. Then a self-guided tour of the Mining Park, and we were on our way back down 95.<br /><br />A couple of footnotes: The Pahrump Mirror, Nye County’s only independent newspaper, reports that The Shady Lady, one of our long established rural brothels, is going co-ed. Yes, men are to join the oldest profession out there in the desert. The headline was “Shady Lady To Offer Rooster Services.” The picture under the headline was of 7 ladies mostly in somewhat slinky evening wear, some black, one red. Despite the implication, however, they were neither the Shady Ladies nor prospective customers. They were the contestants for Ms. Senior Golden Years 2009.<br /><br />On our way to Tonopah, we stopped off in Beatty to get a closer look at a colorful gathering. It was the Sour Dough Saloon’s Annual Pig Roast. Quite a crowd had gathered for the outside repast with live music. Most were in classic western attire including some Senior Golden Ladies in dance hall girl dresses worthy of the Long Branch. Bikers were also well represented. I have not made it to Beatty Days yet. That is the end of October. But Beatty is also quite a place. Wish we had a church there.<br /><br />I have heard I-95 described as a boring drive. Whoever finds 95 boring must be driving with their eyes shut. It is one amazing manifestation after another.<br /><br />Oh yes, Goldfield, population 289 is growing at the rate of 10% per year. The roadside jewelry dealer swears if it hits 500, he’s out of there.

L'allocation équivalent retraite assure, jusqu'à 60 ans, un minimum de ressources aux personnes qui, avant 60 ans, totalisent 160 trimestres d'assurance vieillesse.<br /><br />Le <a href="http://www.legifrance.gouv.fr/affichTexte.do;jsessionid=?cidTexte=JORFTEXT000020678001">décret n 2009-608 du 29 mai 2009</a> (JO du 31 mai) institue, à titre exceptionnel, une « allocation équivalent retraite », dont le régime est assez proche du dispositif précédemment en vigueur, abrogé, depuis le 1/1/2009, par la loi de finances pour 2008.<br /><br />Dans le texte, sont précisés :<ul><br /><li>les <strong>bénéficiaires</strong> (demandeurs d’emploi qui justifient, entre le 1/01/2009 et le 31/12/2009 et avant l’âge de 60 ans, de la durée de cotisation à l’assurance vieillesse, requise au 31/12/2008 pour l’ouverture du droit à une pension de vieillesse à taux plein) <br /><li>les <strong>conditions d’attribution</strong> (notamment la condition de ressources) <br /><li>le <strong>montant</strong> (l’AER garantit aux bénéficiaires un montant journalier maximal de l’allocation égal à 32,30 €) <br /><li><strong>l’articulation avec d’autres dispositifs</strong> (RSA, allocation d’assurance chômage, etc.) <br /><li>la <strong>durée de versement</strong> (l’AER est attribuée par périodes de 12 mois renouvelables), les <strong>conditions de versement</strong>, etc.</ul><br /><br />Les bénéficiaires de l’AER seront, à leur demande, dispensés de recherche d’emploi <br />L’AER est gérée par Pôle emploi. Saturday = Sleep In Day!

<p>Since Friday night was such a late night…or should I say early Saturday morning, I slept in till noon-ish or so!! Something I rarely do and it felt great!!</p> <p>Once I got up and go going I cleaned a bit and got some laundry going and then grabbed a <strong>small banana</strong> and <strong>fiber one bar</strong> and ran a few errands around town. Another Double Dose of Darci’s Days!!

<p>Do you like all those D’s in my title?!?!? :P</p> <p>Well I had great intentions of blogging Thursday night, but just didn’t happen!! Too much going on in this house and neighborhood!!</p> <p>Well I thought after I posted Wednesday night we were in for the night, but NOPE! I got a text from a friend/neighbor and so I went over and had a few beers and I didn't get home till after 1am...too late for this girl who has to be to work at 8am!! But hey, it was fun and I met some new people in the area. We were talking about having a block party...I think it would be so fun...hire a band, block off the street, good food, drinks, fun....doesn't that sound like fun?!?!? Hopefully we can pull it off this summer!! </p> <p>I was about 5 minutes late to work 'cause I didn't roll outta bed until 7:30am!! Yikes!! Once getting to my office and settled in I ate the last of that wonderful <strong>watermelon</strong> (<strong>1 point</strong>)you've been seeing all week. To be honest, I'm so sad that it's gone. On the way home I had some much needed fuel of <strong>grapes</strong> for <strong>1 point</strong>. And I really thought I was too! But man was it hard! We went 4 miles and those grapes were bothering me the whole time…I really thought they were going to come back up…luckily they didn’t! And we finished our run in under 40 minutes…even though it was really hard and I wanted to quit most of the time. I’m so glad for Kyle, if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t have made it for sure!</p> <p>And now this is where it all goes down hill! We got back from our run and everyone was at the neighbor’s house and so of course I had to have a <strong>few beers</strong> with everyone…which turned into quite a few beers and a <strong>Wendys 5 piece chicken nugget with BBQ</strong> and didn’t end up getting home till after 2am!! It was a fun  night though!! Hey you gotta have fun sometimes right…?!!?! Point wise…not even sure!</p> <p>But I did see this on the scale this morning and about passed out. I thought for sure I would gain after those drinks and eats last night, but nope…went down another 1.5lbs!!
