<div style='font-style:italic;' class='uawbyline'>By Russ Howe</div><br /><br />  <div class='uawarticle'>The Sylvester Stallone Expendables workout has become one of the most popular celebrity fitness plans of the last few years and is now one of the most asked questions in gyms around the world, alongside things such as "Should women use weight?" and "Which whey protein should I use?"<br />  <br />  Today's article will take you by the hand and walk you through the entire thing. Be warned, however, it's not for the faint of heart! []<br />  <br />  We'll be focusing on all three areas of your arms today as we hit biceps, triceps and forearms in one punishing session which is split up into three phases, each of which cover an individual muscle. Let's begin with the biceps section.<br />  <br />  We start here with 12 chin ups. Then we go for 20 repetitions of biceps curls using an EZ-Bar, once that is done you immediately transition to a wide grip on the same bar and force out an addition 6-8 reps. From here, we move into hammer curls with an incline bench for 12 reps in total.<br />  <br />  The biceps phase is finished off with 10 zottman curls, focusing on rotating the wrist during the top portion of every lift, followed by high cable curls for 12 reps.<br />  <br />  Your forearms are about to be tested in round two, as Stallone picks four of the best exercises in the book to hit his lower arms. First up is the oldest move in the book, wrist curls. Aim for 20-25 reps here and then progress to a reverse grip for the same number of lifts immediately afterwards. The third exercise in the forearm workout may stump quite a few people as it is rarely seen in gyms these days. Handshake curls involve taking a hammer curl grip on a dumbbell and holding the weight with your arm at a 90 degree angle, before focusing on flexing your forearm up and down for 30 reps in total. Wrapping up the forearm phase is a timed hang. See if you can hold out for 2 minutes on this.<br />  <br />  Phase three involves five textbook triceps exercises which combine to form a great circuit. Number one is an explosive close-grip bench press, focusing on letting the bar temporarily leave your hands at the top of every single rep. After lifting the bar 12-15 times, move onto triceps dips to failure. Third in this phase is a lying triceps extension which will really allow you to dig deep and develop the muscle considerably. After 12 reps, progress back to dips and then finish off this phase with 12 rope push-downs.<br />  <br />  Every phase is performed a total of 4 times before progressing to the next. This circuit style approach will elevate heart rate and allow you to maximize fat loss while simultaneously stimulating considerable muscle growth due to the high volume of exercises involved.<br />  <br />  For those who have time, the plank position and a set of close-grip push-ups are usually used as a wrapping up phase after the main body of work has been completed.<br />  <br />  The Sylvester Stallone Expendables workout is not for the faint of heart and is something you should definitely only attempt once you have found your feet in the gym. How many of us getting ready for church on Sunday run the channels and see these clowns on TV misrepresenting the Christian faith - telling people if they will send money God will give it back? That God can't bless them UNLESS they send money? We expect the likes of Peter Popoff to give us false promises concerning giving money and receiving blessings from God.<br /><br />But sadly, now many of those who laugh on Sunday mornings at Benny Hinn on TV drive Sunday morning to their churches only to find that the same teaching has now worked its way into their own local church! Some pastors will misuse the bible, will abuse their congregations and completely misrepresent the Bible and will present atypical testimonies of nameless givers who receive financial rewards based on the size of their gift to the pastor's church.<br /><br />Here in Jacksonville, this is going on right in the largest and fastest growing evangelical church in the city, <a href="http://celebration.org/" target="_blank">Celebration Church</a>. And the large numbers of young Christians who attend this hipster church are being misled by their pastor, Stovall Weems, and Robert Morris who Weems invited to speak at Celebration last month. <br /><br />I want to call on Stovall Weems and the lay leaders of Celebration Church to denounce the false prosperity gospel that has been entered their church.<br /><br />Please, Stovall, renounce this nonsense. Is your church that desperate to raise revenues that it would resort to this? Have you become that greedy? Admit that this teaching hurts Christians financially, that it is spiritually abusive - and ultimately when the young Christians who are buying your nonsense now wake up and realize they've been lied to, they may very well leave the faith altogether.<br /><br />Lay leaders at Celebration: confront this issue head-on with Stovall. You know what you saw last week from Robert Morris, and his phony-baloney teaching is NOT what your church is about in this community - or is it? Your church is better than that, and you need to do a much better job of screening the speakers that you bring to Jacksonville.<br /><br />In the video below you will see four clips that demonstrate what I'm talking about. The first one is Stovall Weems himself promising that if the church members will tithe, God will financially bless them. In the next three, Robert Morris gives three stories of people from his church that gave large gifts to the church, only to have God "miraculously" return the money to them.<br /><br />Morris' implication from the three testimonials he recites is clear - it is no implication at all - it is a direct claim: if you give at or over the 10% level (to your church, of course), God will miraculously bless you financially.<br /><br />If Robert Morris were selling a product on TV, he probably could be sued by the Federal Trade Commission for false advertising. An advertiser can not give non-typical consumer testimonials of the benefits of a product <a href="http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm" target="_blank">that are not typical of the average consumer</a> - unless they put up a disclaimer that gives the ACTUAL results that can be expected. Since 2009, the FTC has ruled that not even a "Results not typical" disclaimer on the screen would be sufficient consumer protection from outlandish claims in atypical testimonials.<br /><br />But of course, this is the wacky world of modern evangelicalism, where just about any financial claim can be made to get the peeps to fork over more money - with very little accountability and transparency on how it will be spent. We see Kenneth Copeland do it - but now we see pastors in large evangelical mega churches doing the same thing. The Bible continues to be used by professional religious men to build religious empires and enrich themselves and their family members, by using lies and deception mixed in with Jesus Christ to trick those who desperately want - that desperately need - God to bless them.<br /><br />It is what Martin Luther fought against 500 years ago: religious hucksters trying to peddle their religion to make a buck and build an empire with phony and false promises. They were called "indulgences" in Luther's day. <br /><br />But this deception is back with a vengeance in 21st century Christianity - complete with slick marketing and social media to promote it - and there is no Martin Luther around to stop it. Perhaps no one cares anymore - we just let the gullible be the gullible.<br /><br />But maybe the lay leaders at Celebration can do something about it at their church. One of my favorite things about blogging is discovering talented people whom you would otherwise never have a chance to meet. I guess anytime things get stressful between partners, one's mind has a tendency to wander...<br /><br />He's visited my dreams a few times lately.  It's so real.  I see him, smell him, hear his voice and I feel him.  <br /><br />I found him on facebook today.  He's married and has a beautiful son that is a mirror image of himself.  No I'm not stupid, I won't contact him.  <br /><br />I feel silly thinking about him now.  I last saw him 19 years ago. <br /><br />He was my first love.<br /><br />It was too much, I was way too young, far too many years between us.<br /><br />Nothing kinky in the slightest.  But he filled the role of the daddy I needed.  And the allure of having the man that other girls swooned over... and the secrecy, the danger, the excitement, oh wow!<br /><br />It was discovered and it needed to end.  I was of age by then. Still his job could have (should have) been on the line.<br /><br />It ended too soon.  I wasn't ready.  Neither of us were but he knew it was best.<br /><br />My mom was dying, just months left to live.  Even though she hated me I felt I should be there for my dad who also didn't care for me.  I ran away from the state I grew up in and transplanted myself to where I am now, where my parents had relocated to.  It was a disaster in every way.<br /><br />I threw myself into an abusive relationship with the first person I met after moving here.<br /><br />Got out many years later.<br /><br />Rebounded into the arms of the man I eventually married.<br /><br />I don't have regrets.  I love him.  I adore my children and I have a good life.  But I do ache for more.<br /><br />Now here I am, fantasizing about my first love.  Wondering what could have been.

We've fallen out of the trend channel to the downside and yet we're repeatedly told that the future is so bright that we need to wear shades. I guess we can just pretty much <a href="http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=assume">assume</a> that we'll never reenter the channel again? Seriously?<br /><br />As seen in the chart, initial claims are just about as bright right now as they have ever been (perhaps even more so if the trend channel is any indicator). They were similarly bright in 2000 and 2007! They were not bright in 1982 though, and that's what made 1982 such a good year to swing for the fences. Things could only get brighter. In hindsight, the brightness increased enormously over the next 18 years!<br /><br />For a full year, 0.7% of the covered workers were sent to the unemployment lines each week back in 1982. Each week! Now that was dim! Compounded over 52 weeks, that gave each worker roughly a 30% chance of becoming unemployed. Ouch! Think that could never happen again?<br /><br />I have a reasonable concern that the trend channel in this chart will ultimately hold, and that's all it would take for me to shy away from risk taking. The channel is also very consistent with my long-term permabear attitude (since 2004). That's especially true if most investors start to believe that this economy can actually tolerate higher interest rates, as is continually repeated by the mainstream financial news.<br /><br /><i style="color: red;">See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over again for the truth to sink in... to kind of catapult the propaganda.</i> - <a href="http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/images/blbushpropagandacatapult.htm">George W.
