What is Christmas without a lot of colors, and for soon to be mom Kelly Clarkson, it appears, her colors this year started red, but have turned gold and platinum. Her "Wrapped in Red" Christmas album sells strong again this week at
#3 on the album chart with 136K in sales to bring her total sales to 578K in just seven weeks, breaking the 500K barrier for gold sales, after already
being certified platinum by the RIAA. It has been selling faster than both her 2011 platinum seller "Stronger" and her 2012 gold selling "Greatest Hits - Chapter One" album. She can certainly sell some albums. The other huge Idol superstar also has not one, but two albums on the
Billboard 200 chart, as Carrie Underwood sees her "Sound of Music" soundtrack album slip only a few positions to #23 from its debut last week at #17. Her "Blown Away" album is also still on its permanent home (85 weeks!) on the Billboard chart at #122.

The other Idol with two albums on the
BillBoard 200 album chart is again Scotty McCreery. His "See You Tonight" album sold another 11K copies to reach 148K total and improve on the chart from #70 last week to #67 this week. He may not now push the massive sales numbers that Kelly or Carrie sell, but I do not think Scotty has to worry about losing his recording contract any time soon! His year old "Christmas With Scotty McCreery" continues to receive good sales this holiday season as well, with another 7K in sales last week to place it at #128 on the album chart and puts its total sales at 382K.
The other Idols on the album chart include Daughtry whose "Baptized" album slips from #44 to #54 this week, and Madisa's "Overcomer" which sees a nice improvement from #182 to #156. This week Kellie Pickler's "The Woman I Am" drops back off the chart, but Phillip Phillip's "The World From the Side of the Moon" pops back in at #186. That makes 8 total albums from Idols this week with two each from Carrie and Scotty. It's another happy holiday season sales week for American Idols!
