The Virginia Department of Forestry is warning that fire season is here, running from October 15-November 30, which means conditions are ideal for wildfires. Citizens are warned to be alert while burning burning trash and campfires. Each year, 10,000 acres of land are lost to wildfires, and 95 percent are the result of humans.
