Job Description:

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) of KLA-Tencor designs and manufactures systems that are used for capturing yield-impacting defects at the front-end-of-line (FEOL) and the back-end-of-line (BEOL). A successful candidate will be joining a world leader in wafer inspection products and technologies designing and manufacturing the next generation of products.

The Wafer Inspection Division (WIN) is seeking an Optical Engineer in our Milpitas, California campus.

Responsibilities:

Within this role, the selected Optical Engineer will-

1.Develop experiments to investigate new optical design concepts and optical components.

2.Design optical sub-systems and alignment procedures.

3.Interact with vendors to qualify optical assemblies.

4.Help solving critical production issues related to optical systems.

5.Provide optical analysis support to help solving optical system issues and improve overall equipment performance

Preferred Qualifications:

1.MS in optics with 5 plus years relevant experience focusing on optical engineering.

2.Strong background in optical imaging and optical system design.

3.Hands-on experience aligning optical systems.

4.Working knowledge of opto-mechanical systems

5.Experience with Zemax/Code V optical design software and stray ray analysis software.

6.Excellent communication skills and ability to work in within a dynamic team environment.

7.Ability to carry out a project from design phase to production.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.

OR

Master's Level Degree with at least 3 years of experience.

OR

Doctorate (Academic) with at least 0 years of experience.
