In den USA verzockte <i>JP Morgan</i> mit riskanten Börsenwetten mindestens zwei Milliarden US-Dollar. Beobachter vor Ort halten dies für die Spitze des Eisbergs. In den nächsten Tagen könnten weitere Hiobsbotschaften aus US-Banken die Märkte erschüttern.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">In Spanien musste die Regierung in einer Nacht- und Nebelaktion mit der <i>Bankia</i> das viertgrößte Geldinstitut des Landes verstaatlichen, um in letzter Minute einen Banken-Run zu verhindern. Und der scheidende Deutsche-Bank-Vorstandschef Josef Ackermann regte vor wenigen Tagen einen Rettungsfonds für das gesamte europäische Bankensystem an. Solche Forderungen lassen erahnen, wie ernst die Situation in der europäischen Finanzbranche wirklich ist.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Besonders dramatisch stellt sich die Situation vieler spanischer Banken und Sparkassen dar. Zwar erklärte Regierungschef Mariano Rajoy vollmundig, mit der jüngsten Bankenreform bekomme man die Krise in den Griff. Unabhängige Experten jedoch reagieren mit großer Skepsis und unterstellen dem spanischen Ministerpräsidenten schlicht Zweckoptimismus. »<i>Die (spanischen) Banken sind wohl kaum in der Lage, im Privatsektor Geld zu bekommen. Also bleibt als letzte Rettung der Staat. Und das bedeutet: der Steuerzahler. Die Frage ist dann, ob der spanische (Steuerzahler) oder alle in der Euro-Zone</i>«<i>, </i>sagte dieser Tage Jörn Spillmann, Leiter Volkswirtschaft international bei der Zürcher Kantonalbank.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Wer die Nachrichten aufmerksam verfolgt, kann die Frage des Ökonomen leicht beantworten: Es werden am Ende die europäischen und vor allem die deutschen Steuerzahler sein, die in die Bresche springen müssen. Denn hinter den Kulissen bereiten die so genannten Euro-Retter bereits das nächste krumme Ding vor. Bald soll es möglich sein, nicht nur ganze Staaten, sondern zum Beispiel auch die Banken eines Landes unter den europäischen Rettungsschirm zu stellen. Eine solche Lösung ist anscheinend für Spanien geplant. Tatsache ist: Alle Rettungsaktionen der vergangenen Monate verpufften weitgehend wirkungslos. Seit 2009 mussten nicht weniger als acht Banken und Sparkassen vom Staat gerettet werden. Über den Bankenrettungsfonds <i>FROB</i>flossen in den vergangenen Monaten über 16 Milliarden Euro in den maroden Finanzsektor. Die Geldinstitute mussten derweil bereits faule Kredite in Höhe von rund 54 Milliarden Euro abschreiben. Sowohl die sozialistische als auch die jetzt amtierende konservative Regierung verabschiedeten drei Bankenreformen. Keine brachte den erhofften Durchbruch. Es gibt wenig Grund, anzunehmen, dass die jetzt verkündete Bankenreform wirklich erfolgreicher sein könnte.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Aktuellen Schätzungen zufolge braucht der spanische Bankensektor mindestens 140 Milliarden Euro, um wieder auf die Beine zu kommen. Während aber viele US-Institute ihre notleidenden Kredite in abenteuerliche ABS-Konstruktionen verpackten und diese »Pakete« an Investoren verkauften, behielten die meisten spanischen Banken ihre faulen Kredite in den Büchern, weil sie auf allmählich wieder steigende Immobilienpreise setzten. Doch angesichts einer Rekordarbeitslosenquote von mindestens 25 Prozent (bei Jugendlichen sogar 50 Prozent)  ging diese Rechnung nicht auf. Im Gegenteil: Derzeit stehen fast eine Million Wohnungen leer und sind allenfalls zu »Schnäppchenpreisen« zu verkaufen. Angesichts der hohen Arbeitslosigkeit können immer mehr spanische Bankkunden ihre Immobilien- und Konsumentenkredite nicht mehr bedienen. Ökonom Spillmann befürchtet daher, dass die Summe der faulen Kredite steigen und sich der Kapitalbedarf der Banken weiter erhöhen wird.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Es kommt hinzu, dass gerade die Sparkassen untereinander in einem ruinösen Wettbewerb stehen. Seit der Deregulierung der Branche gilt für die spanischen Sparkassen (<i>cajas de ahorros</i>) kein Regionalprinzip mehr. Alle drehten landesweit am großen Rad des anscheinend nicht enden wollenden Baubooms. Heute sind die Kassen leer und die Küsten zubetoniert.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Die jetzt verstaatlichte <i>Bankia</i>, in deren Büchern faule Kredite von über 30 Milliarden Euro schlummern sollen, war erst Ende 2010 aus einer Fusion von sieben <i>cajas</i> hervorgegangen. Einmal mehr flüchteten die Verantwortlichen unter dem Druck der damals sozialistischen Regierung in die Größe. Dadurch entstand ein neuer »Too-big-to-fail«-Kandidat, also eine Großbank, die nicht pleitegehen darf, weil die Folgen desaströs wären. Tatsächlich hält <i>Bankia</i>über zehn Prozent aller Einlagen des spanischen Bankensystems. Nach der Zwangsfusion von sieben <i>cajas</i> zur <i>Bankia</i> wurde die neue Großbank im Sommer vergangenen Jahres an die Börse gebracht. Den Anlegern wurde ein aussichtsreiches Investment versprochen. <strong>Executive Director</strong> - <span style="color: #48286d;"><strong>Connecticut Library Consortium</strong></span>.  The Connecticut Library Consortium (CLC) seeks a dynamic leader with  the ability to inspire collaborative efforts to be its next Executive  Director. The Connecticut Library Consortium is a statewide membership  collaborative serving all types of Connecticut libraries by helping them  strengthen their ability to serve their users. The incumbent will  respond to diverse membership needs (800+ multi-type member libraries)  by increasing visibility and political awareness, and providing measured  return on investment for members and communities. CLC recently adopted  an ambitious (2012-2015) strategic plan, which is already underway and  will require the next Executive Director to manage the achievement of  its goals. Additionally, the Executive Director will manage the  operations of the Connecticut Library Association (CLA).<br /><br />Responsibilities: Establishing and coordinating  organizational goals, program directions, and services; developing and  cultivating partnerships with other statewide non-library groups;  monitoring actions of the state legislature that may impact upon CLC and  serving as its advocate; engaging in budget planning and oversight;  hiring and managing all staff and supervising all operations;  coordinating membership communications; and marketing CLC to its  constituencies.<br />             Required qualifications: Masters Degree required,  preferably an MLS, MNM, MPA or equivalent.  Experience in non-profit  program and fiscal management and in working collaboratively with boards  and community organizations. Must have a genuine passion for libraries  and be able to manage multiple demands.<br /><br />             Preferred qualifications: Experience in program and  fiscal management and in working collaboratively with libraries and  governmental boards; fundraising and grant writing expertise; skills in  human resource management, leadership, communication, and analyzing  data; ability to multitask and set priorities; customer service  orientation; understanding of the role of technology in the library  environment; and a willingness to travel, particularly within  Connecticut.<br /><br />             Salary commensurate with experience, plus TIAA-CREF  retirement and an excellent benefits package. The KLA used to have up to 10 per cent of underage fighters in its ranks. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">There were numerous reports of the KLA having contacts with Al-Qaeda, getting arms from that terrorist organization, getting its militants trained in Al-Qaeda camps in PAKISTAN and even having members of Al-Qaeda in its ranks fighting against SERBS.The same horrors that were witnessed during the war in KOSOVO are now apparently being prepared for the multi-confessional Syrian population by Islamist SYRIAN Liberation Army trained in Muslim KOSOVO in the middle of EUROPE.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">The SYRIAN Liberation Army group that actually formed the delegation to Kosovo has been fighting with the SYRIAN government for over a year now. This stand-off has claimed well over 9,000 lives, about half of them SYRIAN servicemen, law enforcers and officials.Lately, the militants have been squeezed out of the SYRIAN cities and their positions along the SYRIAN-TURKISH border. Being unable to turn the tide independently, the SYRIAN Liberation Army has been addressing to its foreign sponsors to start a military intervention into SYRIA to topple President Bashar Assad.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: red; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">ACQUIRING PSY OPS WARFARE TACTICS </span></b></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">According to some experts it is however doubtful that the SYRIAN rebels would learn much in terms of military tactics from the KLA. They started their terrorist ambushes in 1997. They intensified their activities in 1998. But all along it was atrocity management that they wanted, for instance, the famous case of Racak where the combat victims were presented as innocent civilian dead slaughtered by the SERBS. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">But even during the bombing the SERBIAN forces maintained full control of all of the key population centers and they even kept the roads open. It’s only that the KLA came in after the SERBS started withdrawing under the terms of the ceasefire with NATO. And even then they were not engaging in combat, they were acting as marauders ethnically cleansing non-ALBANIANS. So the first point is that there is nothing to learn in terms of combat efficiency and in terms of actually organizing a successful guerilla force. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">RT: Words that have been associated with the KLA – assassination, terror, bombings – is that really the kind of thing that the SYRIAN opposition wants to be associated with?</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">ST: It seems that they don’t care, because I understand that Ammar Abdulhamid, one of the SYRIAN opposition leaders who came to Pristina and actually spoke to an AP reporter, said “We are here to learn.” Now this should be a huge wake-up call for those SYRIANS who are not supportive of the opposition, especially the minorities: the Alawites, the Christians – either Orthodox or GREEK Catholic – the Shiites, the KURDS. At a TeachMeet, which is a free event, teachers volunteer to share for three minutes about a successful lesson that involved technology integration. Changing Things Up: Maintaining Focus

Wednesday night I had the evening to myself.  Such a rare occurrence in my life, especially through the work week.  When Joel and I first started dating, I hated nights like that.  I loved trying to "maximize" the time between us.  However, lately I have an all new appreciation for this precious alone time.  For me, it means getting to focus on myself and what I want to do and when.  I don't have anyone else to cater to or think about - I just do what I want and when I want to do it.  This is when it dawned on me the importance of how maintaining focus will aid in my weight loss. <br /><br />Take last night for example.  I had a clear plan of attack and I executed it beautifully.  As soon as I got home from work, I hurried off to my WW meeting.  After the meeting, I came home and immediately got to work on prepping dinner.  Dinner was a really quick chili cheese dog (turkey hot dog, turkey chili, and reduced fat mozzarella) and a side of spicy vegetables.  Immediately after eating, I quickly cleaned up the kitchen, packed my lunch for the next day, and I was free to enjoy the rest of the evening to do whatever I pleased.  Normally, my evening does not operate this smoothly and efficiently.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNEnpiWV6s4WOFxfednClMtrPvq6D0EONcP7A-9CWottb4chNz_3A4D78IPUuifWH2NYREnXH0BpNvx0ns6PC-l1xWNDUoXThCt4zjAtFA143_ceOUqOTResOy45cMne1_mw5LlbEdvt4/s1600/stop+giving+up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjNEnpiWV6s4WOFxfednClMtrPvq6D0EONcP7A-9CWottb4chNz_3A4D78IPUuifWH2NYREnXH0BpNvx0ns6PC-l1xWNDUoXThCt4zjAtFA143_ceOUqOTResOy45cMne1_mw5LlbEdvt4/s320/stop+giving+up.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br />The key for me in last night's dinner escapade is that I was able to maintain focus on one thing.  I wasn't trying to cook dinner, while simultaneously worrying/doing 12 other things.  I'm not wishing I was a single person at all, but how much easier can life be without distractions (I'm sure the mom's can especially relate to this!)?  I am capable of multi-tasking, but I don't prefer it.  I prefer focusing on one task at a time and doing it well.<br /><br />Often times, especially when Joel is home, I don't feel like going to the trouble of making dinner because I feel pulled in so many directions.  I want to spend time with him, and so I'd rather just take a quick route and order out.  I also want to be able to have time to do other things (like catching up on other blogs, writing my own, reading, etc), and the more time I spend cooking, the more time that is taken away from doing those other extracurriculars.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKglBZSxU7oyaTmLmUdh34xlCwUZi9zfuV2Tz2PWCgntcmZst2wCJdWJgVAutDwQMBi4-tmUUcpJ_EbOmGutXTLhQyxMJyYWanjBLzAxd-fEikSU4ygD2Behop9UYobxHA5wMtfpbtD9Q/s1600/couch+lapping.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKglBZSxU7oyaTmLmUdh34xlCwUZi9zfuV2Tz2PWCgntcmZst2wCJdWJgVAutDwQMBi4-tmUUcpJ_EbOmGutXTLhQyxMJyYWanjBLzAxd-fEikSU4ygD2Behop9UYobxHA5wMtfpbtD9Q/s1600/couch+lapping.jpg" /></a></div><br />Still, how amazing it felt last night after I was done with dinner in a flash and was easily able to prep my lunch for the next day.  This night reminded me that my health is extremely important to me right now.  Losing weight is extremely important to me right now.  I cannot continue to let life's other distractions keep me from getting to where I want to be.  I cannot constantly be consumed with focusing on others needs (or what I perceive to be their needs) and ignore what Hilary really needs.  I want to be able to have a night like last night every night.  I come home, tackle dinner, prep my meals for the next day (setting myself up for success!) and proceed with life.  I got more accomplished last night in the time I spent alone than I ever do on a typical weeknight.  It was astounding actually.  I truly believe this happened because I had all night to focus on me and what I wanted to do - not what I thought Joel wanted me to do or thinks I should be doing (even if he doesn't).<br /><br /><b style="color: #351c75;">Do you have a hard time staying focused on your weight loss journey?  What things do you let get in the way of your success? </b>
