The cold front already pushed through the far western suburbs and should punch through the rest of the area after the evening rush.  After the showers end, skies will begin to clear.  Lows tonight ranging in the mid- to upper 30's.  Winds will be out of the northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  For your Friday, skies will be mostly sunny, but as promised, much cooler.  Winds will also pick up, remaining out of the northwest.  Highs tomorrow in the lower 50 both in the city and towards the south and east.  To the north and west, highs will straddle the 50-degree mark.<br><br><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VFUJ2KDqX98/UnvkBb3N5aI/AAAAAAAACak/f9v1M721xNU/s1600/7+DAY+FORECAST.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VFUJ2KDqX98/UnvkBb3N5aI/AAAAAAAACak/f9v1M721xNU/s320/7+DAY+FORECAST.jpg" width="320"></a></div><br>Temperatures remain low on Saturday under partly cloudy skies and highs still in the lower 50's.  We get a nice bump on Sunday, bringing us back to near normal for this time of year under mostly sunny skies.  For Veterans Day, still a nice day, with temperatures dropping back into the mid-50's and sunny skies.  Any parades or festivities should go off with out a hitch, at least weather-wise. <br><br>After Monday we'll start to see some possible changes.  We'll start Tuesday off with partly cloudy skies and cool temperatures, with highs not even getting into the 50's.  Clouds will begin to increase overnight.  Wednesday, temperatures remain cool as both the GFS and UK models hint at something.  Let me stress it's just a hint at the latter end of their model runs, for now.  Tom had a much more detailed post <a href="http://philadelphiaweather.blogspot.com/2013/11/buffet-of-meteorological-outcomes.html?spref=tw" target="_blank">earlier today</a>, regarding the possible storm system.  For now, let's just leave it at a possible coastal storm, but sun and clouds for now.  Whatever this storm system does will also affect Thursday, with a multitude of possibilities.  The good news for next Thursday is that temperatures will be up slightly, up to near 50-degrees.<br><br><br>

A weak impulse will swing through our northern areas on Sunday and this could result in a passing sprinkle or flurry. However, with high pressure building in, partly to mostly sunny skies are expected for most of the region. A pressure gradient will be present and tighten for a time on Sunday and this should result in gusty winds. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 MPH with gusts to 40 MPH are anticipated. It will be much cooler on Sunday with temperatures struggling to get any higher than the lower 50s. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">A freeze cannot be ruled out early on Monday Morning in Philadelphia, especially if the winds relax. The NAM is printing out 31 and the GFS is printing out 34. It will be a close call. Outside of the city limits, a hard freeze is quite possible. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>However, the growing season has already ended in areas outside of the city. Highs on Monday will struggle to reach 50 degrees. </div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">For Monday Night and the majority of Tuesday, an onshore flow is expected. This will likely increase the low level moisture. It will probably be one of these cases where it is cloudier east of Philadelphia and brighter west of Philadelphia. There is a slight chance of a few periods of fog or drizzle as well. The best energy with this front is located to our north. Therefore, only sprinkles are expected as the front passes through. The greatest chance to see sprinkles will be in the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos. The GFS LAMP guidance was relied on heavily for low temperature expectations. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">During the daylight hours on Sunday, high pressure will move back into the area. Skies should be mostly sunny. The winds will also relax be lighter than today. Another weak cold front will approach the region on Monday Evening. Most of Monday should feature plenty of sunshine with a few clouds arriving late in the day as the front passes through. During this frontal passage, we may not even see much in the way of sprinkles. </span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">A warm front is expected to arrive on Wednesday and move north of the region by Thursday Morning. A few rain showers are possible with the highest chances for precipitation north of Philadelphia. A cold front is then expected to pass through late in the week. The GFS model is faster with the frontal passage when comparing it to the ECMWF model. At this moment, our best guess is that it may be an increasingly wet as Thursday Evening progress. We will watch this carefully as Halloween activities  will be taking place on Thursday Evening. The rain should extend into Friday before skies clear late in the day. However, if the slower solution turns out to be correct, Halloween would be drier with the majority of the rain on Friday and skies may not clear until sometime on Saturday.
