Job Description:
The Surfscan-ADE division of KLA-Tencor is an industry leading supplier of wafer inspection and metrology systems. Wafer suppliers and device manufacturers worldwide rely on our measurement and inspection systems to certify and ensure the highest quality bare silicon substrates. Semiconductor device yields begin with the bare wafer, and our leading technology provides early insight into surface defect, shape, flatness and nanotopography of these advanced 300mm substrates. Our optical inspection and metrology tools will support the next several generations of wafer and IC manufacturing.
The Surfscan-ADE division is looking for an Electrical Engineer to work within a world-class engineering team to develop the next generation of wafer metrology products.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Job duties and responsibilities include but not limit to;
work with system engineers to define electrical system/subsystem design specifications
design electrical interlock, power distribution, and control systems for semiconductor metrology instruments
design computer and data acquisition systems to interface with cameras
manage external vendor or contractors to deliver subsystems that meet design specification and reliability
integrate and test subsystems
design diagnostic tools/fixtures for manufacturing and field services
provide escalation support as needed
Working experience in thermal control, motion control systems and PLC programming are highly desirable
Strong diagnostic skills and capable of resolving electrical noise, grounding, and signal integrity issues
Experience in electrical interlock and power distribution system design preferred
Experience in design and implementation of PCBs, A/D and I/O boards and microprocessors
Familiarity with frame grabbers, CCD, cap gage
Familiar with C/C++ and knowledge of Ethernet and TCP/IP protocol
Experience in safety and electrical regulatory compliance
Team player with good writing and verbal communication skills.
Experience in semiconductor equipment industry or medical equipment industry is preferred
BS or MS. in electrical engineering or equivalent field with 5-10+ years experience
