She is not saying "No way" about getting in the car to annoy. Rigid, defiant and "off track" behavior is a signal that your child is <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">feeling disconnected</em>. Children who behave "badly" are not doing it to "get" attention. They're doing it because they <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">need</em> attention and connection from you. You're told what to wear, what to eat, when to leave the house, and on and on. I am not suggesting that we allow children to run the show. But trying on their perspective of close-to-zero autonomy can help you empathize with their desire for power, even if it's the power to defy.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, Century, Times, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21px; list-style: none; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px;"><strong style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">3. Talk to yourself.</strong> <br style="border: 0px; display: block; list-style: none; margin: 0px 0px 4px; padding: 0px;" />There is no better tool for staying calm than the use of positive self-talk. In order to pull off "Don't take it personally," you will need to speak to yourself inwardly about what is happening in front of you. That means when your child says, "I don't waaant to get dressed," and your first thought is, "I DON'T CARE! GET DRESSED NOW!" you can keep from saying <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">that</em> out loud, and instead use some helpful self-talk: "Deep breath. Joey is refusing to get dressed and I want to yell, but I can stay calm." Once you talk yourself <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">out</em>of behavior you don't want to engage in, you can talk yourself <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">into</em> responding more effectively.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, Century, Times, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21px; list-style: none; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px;"><strong style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">4. Reflect and honor a child's feelings and meet them where they are. </strong><br style="border: 0px; display: block; list-style: none; margin: 0px 0px 4px; padding: 0px;" />Allow a child her feelings of rebellion and engage in a warm way. (Yes, this is actually possible after that kind chat you had with yourself.) Try narrating, "You really don't want to get out of the car. I see your arms holding onto those car seat straps and you're probably thinking, 'No, no, no, I'm not getting out of the car!'" What good does this do? It creates a pause, a gap in the anger spiral you might both whirl into. When you state "what is" in a calm manner, your child feels recognized. And because you didn't engage in any type of power struggle, there is no authority or control to react to, or push up against.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, Century, Times, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21px; list-style: none; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px;"><strong style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">5. Hold boundaries on unsafe behavior only.</strong> <br style="border: 0px; display: block; list-style: none; margin: 0px 0px 4px; padding: 0px;" />Here's what I mean by this: When your child loses it and their nervous system is overloaded -- <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">there is no teachable moment.</em> If they are freaking out about something, keep everyone safe and leave it at that until the storm has passed. Stop aggression with firm arms and say, "I can't let you hit." When they retaliate and yell, "I hate you -- you're the worst mom in the whole world," do not try to now <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">also</em> put boundaries on their words. They have moved from a completely inappropriate way of expressing their stress and displeasure (hitting) to a more, albeit only slightly more, appropriate way (yelling mean things at you). Take the high road. Because you have a fully formed prefrontal cortex, you can.</div><div style="background-color: white; border: 0px; font-family: Georgia, Century, Times, serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 21px; list-style: none; margin-bottom: 14px; padding: 0px;"><strong style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">6. Avoid sarcasm and teasing and aim for a silly, conspiratorial tone. Watch them laugh as you do, and after enough giggles they'll likely comply. Power play is when you play games that give a child the more powerful role. Remember that your children are learning how to handle themselves by watching you. These tips will help you keep your cool when tempers run hot and you'll see real results -- improvement in your relationship with your kids, <em style="border: 0px; list-style: none; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;">and </em>in their behavior.</div></div>

The lookout is rendered realistically enough that at first I though it was real, but given the advertisement's tagline of "Israel Beyond Belief," the height of the vista, and the fairly utilitarian and unbelievable nature of the lookout (the stair would be outside? the couple would be looking from the landing?), it must be fake. Right?<br /><br /><b>Update:</b> Thanks to Chen, it turns out the lookout is actually a hotel (makes sense, considering what the ad says about luxury hotels). Then, we invoice you.”<br /><h2><b>Tax Payment Processing With BTC</b></h2>“There are payment processors that have partnered with the government already. What we’re essentially doing is [functioning as] a layer on top that accepts bitcoin,” said Giannaros.<br />The cost for the tax payment service is a 1.87% fee for the payment processor and a flat $10 charge from snapCard.<br />“We have a government payment processor, like a credit card processor, that we run the transaction through. That’s the nuts and bolts of it.”<br />The electronic methods of submitting owed taxes have consisted of an echeck or a credit card. Many credit card processors charge between 2-3% to make a tax payment using plastic.<br /><blockquote>“There’s a lot of attributes to the US dollar that make it monopolistic in the US, and one is paying taxes. You have to pay in dollars,” Giannaros said. “At the end of the day, you still pay in dollars through us. But it kind of alleviates the end-to-end point. It’s using bitcoin to pay your taxes.”</blockquote><h2><b>SnapCard and Ecommerce</b></h2>SnapCard <a href="https://www.joinsnapcard.com/index.html" target="_blank">bills itself on its website</a> as ‘the easiest way to buy anything on the Internet using bitcoin’. The company regularly charges a 2% fee (<a href="https://medium.com/company-updates/95b628842f68" target="_blank">1% during the month of January</a>) when using the shopping cart service to pay for items with bitcoin, and uses a bookmarklet to enable the checkout process.<br />Once a user gets to the shopping cart stage of an online purchase, he or she clicks on the snapCard bookmarklet, which forwards the data to the company for bitcoin processing. The advantage of this is that, <a href="http://www.coindesk.com/overstock-opens-bitcoin-sales/">with the exception of Overstock.com</a>, large online retailers still don’t accept bitcoin as a payment method. Until that changes, those who want to buy items with BTC from Amazon or a majority of online retailers need to use a third-party service. SnapCard has even processed the <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1v3dmd/breaking_barriers_bought_a_mercedesbenz_using/" target="_blank">sale of a $90,000 Mercedes Benz</a> from a car dealership that would not accept BTC.<br />So far, snapCard has facilitated more than $300,000 in BTC transactions from an active base of over 2,500 users. In December, Giannaros and his co-founder Michael Dunworth <a href="http://www.coindesk.com/snapcards-founders-talk-bitcoin-volatility-early-adopters/">told CoinDesk in an interview</a> that they believed many of their customers were early bitcoin investors looking to spend their increasingly valuable bitcoins to promote the virtual currency.<br />SnapCard is currently being incubated at Boost VC, a San Mateo, CA-based startup accelerator that frequently <a href="http://www.coindesk.com/seven-bitcoin-startups-pitch-funding-boost-vc-demo-day/">financially backs bitcoin-based companies</a>. A few other bitcoin startups along with snapCard will be pitching to investors at Boost’s Winter Class Demo Day on 11 February.<br />It’s <a href="https://www.joinsnapcard.com/index.html" target="_blank">free to sign up with snapCard</a>.
