A small amount of Java Swing development will also be necessary.<br /><br /><b style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;">Preferred Qualifications</b>:<br />1) Experienced with Object-Oriented software analysis and design using UML (Unified Modeling Language) modeling, Java and C/C++ programming.<br />2) Experience in developing and debugging large high-level machine control software applications.<br />3) Requires good knowledge of multi-threaded/parallel processing applications.<br />4) Good software documentation skills are required.<br />5) Semiconductor equipment experience preferred. <strong>Children’s Library Specialist -</strong> <span style="color: #48286d;"><strong>West Hartford Public Library</strong></span> seeks an enthusiastic part-time Children’s Library Specialist to  develop and present exceptional programming for children age’s birth  through fifth grade. The candidate will plan and conduct storytime  programs that include music and movement, puppetry and crafts, will  visit preschool and elementary schools, participate in a Summer Reading  Skit, offer Book Clubs and programs for school-age children.  Training  in the Mother Goose on the Loose Early Literacy Program is a plus. We  are looking for someone with an extensive knowledge of children’s  literature, a background in successful programming in a library or  educational setting, an understanding of child development and the  ability to work in a multicultural environment. The successful candidate  will work with a dedicated Children’s Services team in a very busy  library. She/he will possess creativity, energy, flexibility and a good  sense of humor, will provide exceptional public service, have solid  organizational skills and maintain a positive attitude.   The candidate  must be able to communicate and enjoy working with children from birth  through fifth grade, as well as their parents. Required Qualifications:  Undergraduate degree in education or related field and experience in a  library/educational setting. Preferred:  Masters in Library Science.  Speaking fluency in a language other than English that is used in the  local community. This is a year-round position of 6 hours per week  primarily during the mornings and afternoons, however, evenings and  weekends may be expected. Minimum hourly salary:  $25.50 hourly. This is unfortunate as there are many times I wish I could have the email but delete the message itself. Here is how if you  have to.  9/25/10 Here is a solution for deleting email attachments in Gmail without deleting the message itself.     This is a better way then forwarding the message to yourself because you actually save the original message and timestamps, but with attachments removed.  This solution gets the results you want, albeit a little time consuming.  The basic idea is access your gmail account as an IMAP account using Thunderbird, and then use Thunderbird’s feature for deleting attachments.  You just need to make sure messages are first moved to a local folder, then moved back to an imap folder. The media has no incentive to talk about great things because people don't stop and stare in wonder at those things. The problem with our society is that people would rather be shocked than awed.<br /><br />Yet, I will live to be the kind of teacher who encourages a student to stop and stare in wonder in five or ten years after they realize the importance of what they learned in my classroom. The awe of a class well taught is a hope diamond amidst the trash that society pretends that teachers are. I am not that kind of teacher. While not perfect, I'm going to be better and be more this year.<br /><br /><blockquote class="tr_bq">"We have lots of heroes today - sportsmen, supermodels, media personalities. They come, they have their 15 minutes of fame, and they go. But the influence of good teachers stays with us. They are the people who really shape our lives." <a class="zem_slink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Sacks" rel="wikipedia" target="_blank" title="Jonathan Sacks">Jonathan Sacks</a></blockquote><br />You, my friend, are a hero. Let's let mutual appreciation start with us. If this profession of teaching continues to be trounced in the mud, let it not be because we laid down in the mud so they could do it. I'm proud to be a teacher and be among you. The things happening in many places aren't great and none of us has the money we wish to do what we want. A deficit in money can be made up in other ways. A deficit in your heart can't be made up by anyone.<br /><br />A heart for children is the first ingredient in being a good teacher. You are noble. You are exceptional.
