As he goes on to say, computers were intended to overcome a lot of government restrictions.<br /><br />Wozniak said inventors created computers to free people up and give them instant communication anywhere in the world. With them, people could share any thought they had freely. Inventors didn’t realize that in the digital world, there were a lot of ways to use technology to control people, snoop on them and make things possible that weren’t, Woz noted.<br /><br />Things used to be different though. As an example, the Apple co-founder recalled the old days of mailing letters. You simply licked the envelope, sealed it and when you received an envelope that was still sealed, it meant nobody had seen it – you could have a private communication. Now because that same message is being sent via e-mail, it’s no longer private and anyone can listen.<br /><br />Along the same lines, Woz said he was a fan of someone like NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden. He said he felt the same way about Snowden that he felt about Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg. Ellsberg is a man that Woz said changed his life and taught him a lot.<br /><br />

You can even listen to music with it while swimming.<br /><br />Similar Guts, Better Exterior<br /><br />The spec differences between the Galaxy S4 Active and the standard Galaxy S4 (which I dubbed the best Android phone ever) are minute. Rather than the S4's Super AMOLED screen, the Galaxy S4 Active uses a regular LCD screen. The resolution is still the same at 1920 x 1080, however.<br /><br />The other internal change is that the camera is 8-megapixel rather than 13. The 8-megapixel camera does have a special aqua mode, however, for underwater photography.<br /><br />The battery, processor and RAM are all the same in the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy S4 Active.<br /><br />A bigger difference, however, is in the phone's exterior. The Galaxy S4 Active is slightly thicker (it's very hard to tell the difference) and as a result feels more substantial in the hand. The polycarbonate shell around the phone and its back also feels more substantial, eschewing the feather-light and plasticky feel of the S3 and S4.<br /><br />The two phones are so similar, its enough to make us wonder why Samsung didn't just consider making at least some of these features standard on the regular Galaxy S4. Maybe it wouldn't be necessary to make the phone submergible in a meter of water, but having it work in the rain would be great.<br /><br />The Galaxy S4 Active is an AT&T exclusive in the United States and will be coming to other parts of the world later this summer.

The team has placed in third five times over the years (among 28 worldwide participants), but with a recent change to the challenge's rules — vehicles now require four requires instead of three — the University of Michigan is hoping its new creation, the Generation, will finally make it to the top.<br /><br />The car, which measures at about 177 inches long and 43 inches tall, weighs in at about 500 pounds when the driver is in place. "The driver is now positioned on the left side of the vehicle instead of in the center. Due to the addition of the forth wheel, it may not be faster, but our goal was to reduce the impact of the additional wheel as much as possible."<br /><br />The lopsided design of the newly-redesigned Generation aims to boost efficiency on the road. The new rules mandate that the wheels can't be next to each other, as they are on traditional cars. Otherwise, the driver's seat would hang lower than the surface and mess up the car's speed.

Read our hands-on review to find out what it's all about.<br /><br />There's a lot about the Galaxy S4 Active which is identical to the flagship Galaxy S4 smartphone. It's got the same 5in Full HD screen but with a less impressive TFT panel rather than SuperAMOLED, 1.9GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Software is also the same with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with features like Air View and Smart Pause.<br /><br />Specially designed ports and flaps keep the dust and water out, and although we haven't dunked the Active in water ourselves we can confirm via a demonstration on stage at Samsung's launch event that the phone didn't break. It is 9.1mm and 153g which isn't bad though.<br /><br />We like the rugged look of the Galaxy S4 Active and despite the large stylish visible screws on the back, the rear cover can still be removed to access the SIM card, microSD card and battery.<br /><br />As you can see, there are three physical buttons below the screen instead of the usual one. We'd rather have a dedicated camera button, but it's not the end of the world.

Comey rushed to the room of his bedridden boss to physically stop White House officials from trying to get an ailing Ashcroft to reauthorise the program. <br /><br />Comey was a federal prosecutor who served for several years as the US attorney for the Southern District of New York before coming to Washington after the Sept. 11 attacks as deputy attorney general. In recent years, he's been an executive at defence company Lockheed Martin, general counsel to a hedge fund, board member at HSBC Holdings and lecturer on national security law at Columbia Law School.<br /><br />The White House may hope that Comey's Republican background and strong credentials will help him through Senate confirmation at a time when some of Obama's nominees have been facing tough battles. Republicans have said they see no major obstacles to his confirmation, although he is certain to face tough questions about his hedge fund work and his ties to Wall Street as well as how he would handle current, high-profile FBI investigations. <br /><br />The leaker of those National Security Agency programs, former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, also is the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. And just this week, Mueller revealed the FBI uses drones for surveillance of stationary subjects and said the privacy implications of such operations are worthy of debate.
