Fast forward a few years and that same technology is on the cusp of being introduced into our daily lives in the form of a host of applications that could very well change the face of art, consumer products, and even conservation. The company behind this technology is called Fabrican. Developed by clothing-designer-turned-chemist Dr. Manel Torres, who was originally looking for a faster way to produce clothes, the idea came to the self-proclaimed fashion doctor when he went to a friend's wedding and saw someone getting sprayed by silly string, the popular 90s-era toy. That's when Torres got his "aha" moment and decided to pursue an instant, nonstick fabric. The result was the creation of instant garments you can remove and even wash. Los Angeles based artist Aaron Axelrod calls the cans a mobile studio. Axelrod, who's done installations for The Tonight Show, Coachella and Disney, says he wished he had a tool like this years ago. Instead, he's had to use less malleable products such as tile, plastic, paint and cotton, often heavy to carry and time consuming to apply. "I wish I had that for those projects," he says. "I'm always looking for a universal material that I can do many different things with, and compact too, where I don't have to lug around lots of material in a car. I basically get this one material that I can do so many things in one... it's a studio in a can." Beyond art, it's possible this substance will soon be in hospitals and emergency service vehicles. That's because the cans are sealed and sterilized, and could work as bandages or as a spray-on cast for broken bones. Welcome to the first-aid kit of the future.

Announced at WWDC, iOS 7 drew a lot of criticism for its lighter color scheme, even inspiring a Tumblr account, "Jony Ive Redesigns Things," which mostly paints Apple's vice president of industrial design to be a Lisa Frank for 2013. Some commenters said iOS 7's shiny design — which moves away from much of the skeuomorphic look that Steve Jobs prided himself on for setting Apple apart from other mobile operating systems — is an insult to Jobs' vision and suggested that since Jobs' passing, Apple's been losing its lead in innovation against Microsoft, Android and other companies. (New features and designs in iOS 7 noticeably similar to existing apps and mobile systems.) Facebook's incorporation of #hashtags marked its joining with the rest of the social web, though many readers are not necessarily ready to see the signs all over their News Feed. Some commenters noted that cross-posts from Instagram and Twitter will finally look less awkward, but others discussed how the real-time search benefits of Twitter hashtags won't translate to Facebook and questioned the purpose. And other readers lamented the inevitable overuse of hashtags by their so-called friends.

And as it did back in February, the app managed to sidestep the restriction by revoking all the old keys and requiring users to sign in again. But Falcon Pro has run into additional issues this morning, as it seems it may have once again exhausted its available tokens. Writing on the official Falcon Twitter account, developer Joaquim Vergès said "Wtf? I wake up one day after resetting keys and they're already all used? Did twitter just shut me down?" In a later tweet, the dev said he'd unpublished the app from the Google Play Store "for now" while he figures out a new strategy. This morning's developments suggest one of two possibilities -- either Falcon Pro experienced a major boost in popularity over the past day, or it's running into issues on account of its working around Twitter's user token limits. For what it's worth, if you've already got Falcon Pro signed in, it'll continue to work just as it did before. But unfortunately new users will be out of luck. For users who've updated and found themselves unable to log back in, Vergès offers a downgrade to the earlier version 2.0.2 via a direct APK download. The future of Falcon Pro -- and other popular Twitter clients in the same situation -- remains uncertain. Equally, it's unclear whether Twitter is proactively taking action to stop developers skirting the limits on user tokens -- that said, frequently resetting keys and requiring users to sign in again was never likely to be sustainable in the long run. We'll update this story with any further developments, and hope to see Falcon Pro returning to the Play Store soon.

The government raised the threat of putting soldiers on the streets after a weekend of violent clashes sparked by the eviction of campers occupying Istanbul's Gezi Park, the epicentre of the protest movement. Police “will use all their powers” to end the unrest, Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said in a televised interview. “If this is not enough, we can even utilise the Turkish armed forces in cities.”The deployment of the military, the self-described guardian of the secular state, would mark an escalation of a crisis posing the biggest challenge yet to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Islamic-rooted government. But after losing their focal protest site, with Gezi Park and the adjoining Taksim Square still guarded by police on Monday, the demos appeared to lose some of their intensity. Groups of hundreds of striking workers from the KESK and DISK union federations took to the streets in Istanbul, Ankara and the western city of Izmir calling for the police violence against protesters to end immediately and chanting “Erdogan, resign!”. Their progress was at times blocked by officers backed by water cannon trucks but there were no reports of fresh clashes. The unions' turnout was smaller than when they marched in support of the demonstrators on June 5. After the members dispersed in Istanbul in the evening, some 300 youngsters clashed briefly with police who fired tear gas, water and rubber bullets. Turkey's crisis began when a sit-in to save Gezi's 600 trees from being razed in a redevelopment project prompted a brutal police response on May 31, spiralling into countrywide demonstrations against Erdogan, seen as increasingly authoritarian. So far four people have been killed and nearly 7,500 people injured, according to the Turkish Medical Association (TBB). A survey by Metropoll, published in the Zaman daily, found that the AKP would still come first if elections were held now, with 35.3 percent of the vote. The US should not interfere in our internal affairs, recognise the rights of Iran including nuclear rights and stop its unilateral policies and pressure,” the cleric said. “The next (Iranian) government will not give up the legitimate rights of the country.” The United States, Israel and the West suspect Iran's nuclear programme is aimed at developing weapons, while Iran insists it is for peaceful purposes such as generating electricity and producing medical isotopes. In all, seven vehicles rigged with explosives went off in five cities south of Baghdad during morning rush hour, leaving 56 people wounded in primarily Shia Muslim areas of Iraq. No group immediately claimed responsibility for the attacks, but Sunni militant groups linked to Al-Qaeda frequently target Shia, whom they regard as apostates, in coordinated attacks.
