One of the most important things on the Internet (for both hosts and visitors) is the use of thumbnails to attract attention. Think of what you decide to click on through the day, and most likely links with thumbnails are near the top. This applies to articles on a website generally, but also to architects and how they present themselves on sites like Architizer and Archinect, where firm logos are prominent. (A few years ago <a href="http://archidose.blogspot.com/2010/05/firm-faces-13.html">I looked at how some firms used these thumbnails to show their own faces</a>, but for the most part logos prevail.)<br /><br />So what are some of the trends in how architects brand themselves through logos? Browsing through <a href="http://archinect.com/firms" target="_blank">Archinect</a> and <a href="http://www.architizer.com/en_us/firms/" target="_blank">Architizer</a> I found some consistencies that are presented below, though this is hardly an exhaustive list. Logos often work in concert with firm names (What acronym is formed by the name? How does the logo express what the architects and firm are about?), but the below groupings focus solely on their appearance. Given that many people will decide within one second if they'll click forward (a guess, but probably a good one), it certainly makes sense to consider a logo as a thumbnail on a website, not just as <div class="MsoNormal">I had mentioned in a post <a href="http://www.whatisgoingoninmymind.blogspot.com/2013/07/firework-mishap-shin-soo-ji-desolation.html">on my other blog</a> that rhythmic gymnasts don’t really get a fair shake along the grand scale of the athletic landscape, and while the ceremonial first pitch delivered by South Korea’s Shin Soo-ji is fascinating in its own right, it is causing a bit of a YouTube sensation.  I know what you’re thinking, it’s just a pitch in a South Korean baseball game, but it is more the display of talent (and flexibility) that are really catching in the video.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal">According to NESN, Shin Soo-ji tossed the ball <a href="http://nesn.com/2013/07/rhythmic-gymnast-shin-soo-ji-shows-off-flexibility-with-incredible-windup-on-first-pitch-video/">before a game</a>between the Doosan Bears and Samsung Lions in Seoul.  Granted, the pitch was not a strike, but just like a great comedy it’s the delivery that really matters.  This girl gets high marks for poise, flair, flexibility, and confidence, because just getting the ball to the catcher is a big deal in my book.<o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><br /><div class="MsoNormal">The viral video has since climbed over two million views.  I hope Shin Soo-ji is ready for a little more attention from her nation and the world after this. <o:p></o:p></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal"><br /></div><iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/RVeo6QMcbW4" width="560"></iframe>

However, when working to get thinner thighs, diet doesn't play much of a role at all. The function of diet is to ensure proper nutrients are available to the muscles and to aid in burning fat overall. If students are expected to cite sources and not allowed to use location numbers, then Amazon can expect the pushback seen on this forum post. Meanwhile, a helpful person on the forum has noted how you can know what to read on the Kindle if your professor or teacher says "read page 80-92" - you can dive into the table of contents on the website and save a copy. This is the only solution. It is time for Amazon to get their act together and have all Kindle ebooks display page numbers if there is a printed copy of the book. If there is not a printed copy of the book, there needs to be a consistent reference point or "page" that all can use for sourcing and citing content. "1. Look up the book in the in the Amazon Kindle store (where you purchased it). 2. Click on the book where it says "Look Inside." You want to look at the table of contents, which will have the pages numbers for each chapter. 3. It defaults to the "kindle edition," which does not have the page numbers in the table of contents. However, there is a tab above that says "Print Book." Click on that. 4. Once you're on the "Print Book" display, it shows the page numbers in the TOC. By doing the above, I was able to determine that "the first 26 pages" = Chapters 1 & 2.
