Part-time Library Assistant I - Babcock Library, Ashford

<strong>Part-time Library Assistant I</strong> - <strong><strong><span style="color: #48286d;">Babcock Library</span></strong></strong> in Ashford, CT is seeking a Library Assistant I to work 19 hours every 2 weeks. Hours will include working every other Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working directly with patrons; operating computers for all circulation functions, simple data inputting, internet searches and to assist patrons with basic computer questions; processing new materials; preparing overdue notices and contacting patrons with overdue materials; contacting patrons with reserved items; performing other duties as assigned. Ability to be flexible and assume other duties and occasionally other hours are very important. Ability to work well as part of a team is vital. Qualifications: High school diploma; ability to work well and patiently with the public; good communications skills; experience with and knowledge of basic computer programs and operations; ability and willingness to follow detailed instructions. Experience working as a paid employee in a library preferred. Hourly wage $10. Vacation, personal leave, sick leave and paid holidays. Schedule: Wednesdays 10-3, every other Friday 2-6, every other Saturday 9-2. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION EXTENDED.
