Assistant Director - East Lyme Public Library

<strong>Assistant Director</strong> - The <span style="color: #48286d;"><strong>East Lyme Public Library</strong></span> seeks a full time Assistant Director. We are seeking an innovative leader with exceptional interpersonal skills, technological proficiency, and managerial experience, preferably in a public library setting. Responsibilities include: scheduling of all staff members, assisting in enforcement of library policies, arranging adult programming, print, serial and audio visual collection development, publication of newsletter three times a year, management of online databases, writing parts of annual report, scheduling of events, some reference desk coverage, staff supervision and training, coordination of payroll forms, managing volunteer applications and work, and other duties as assigned. Must be able to articulate the purpose of the public library to a wide variety of constituents. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Library or Information Science and successful professional record of accomplishment, preferably in a public library setting. A master’s in a related field with substantial public library experience will also be considered. Preferred qualifications include grant writing, understanding the budget process, and use of statistical data to back up library operations. Salary range $51,415-59,059, anticipated start date July 1, 2012.
