Hello blog friends!<br /><br />I figured it is finally time to give ya’ll {I’m not southern, but I just like to say ya’ll} an update and a few facts as to what I’ve been up to!<br /><ul><li>I’ve been back to my week Weight Watcher meetings since April 26th</li><li>In two weeks I’ve lost 2lbs.</li><li>Over the past 2 weeks I have tracked <strong><u>EVERYTHING</u></strong></li><li>I have not exercised…</li><li>Until 2 days ago, I joined a lunch hour class at work and got my butt kicked {in a good way}</li><li>I took my measurements the 1st of the this month. The number on the scale is just that…a number.</li><li>Hoping for another good loss this Thursday at WW!</li></ul>Adelyn’s 1st birthday isn’t too far away and I want to be as close to my pre baby weight as I can. I’m 12.8 lbs from my pre baby weight and it’s a little less than 6 weeks from today. I AM COMMITTED!!! I WILL DO THIS!<br /><br />I started to get down on myself that I’ve taken a whole year to lose my baby weight, but that does<u> no good</u> for me. This is my journey, everything has led up to this point, I can’t change the past, the future is mine! Look out blog friends this Mama is getting down to business!<br /><br /><div align="left">And just so I don’t have a picture-less post here are a pair of goal pants. They are size 10 and I wore them in <a href="http://weightloss-stories.blogspot.com/2009/05/days-193-194-saturday-516-sunday-517.html">May 2009 to my cousin’s baby shower</a> and they weren’t the least bit tight. Unrelated to the topic of the meeting, one person asked me, “Is it true you have closed our church in Tonopah?” I truly am not telling this story to vent (well not just to vent), but to teach a point I hope will be helpful in our congregations.</span></div><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">               </span>“No,” I said. “I did not close our church in Tonopah.” I went on to explain that St. Mark’s has for several years had an Average Sunday Attendance of 2, that there are a 4 people who attend on occasion – 2 of them actually keep the church running. Those 2, the doers, have moved to Henderson. Before moving, they called a congregational meeting to ask the other members to take over. The other members declined. I am doing my level best to recruit a priest from out of state to move to Tonopah to revitalize our work there.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>As I understand Episcopal polity, bishops do not close churches. What happens in Tonopah is up to the Standing Committee, but we are doing our best for the mission in Central Nevada. I am quite hopeful we will see new life in coming months.</span><br /> <br /><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span>I explained all this, but the person who rightly asked the question, told me that the word on the street is “The bishop closed Tonopah.” And it was fairly clear, after my explanation, that others on the Committee still suspected I was somehow behind the closing of that congregation. They had heard it on the street, in the pews, the sacristy, or the parish parking lot. Where there is smoke, there is fire, right? And so the suspicion will be a little bit greater among small rural churches that the bishop wants to close them because they are small and rural. There is also a suspicion among large urban churches that I want to close them because they are large and urban – but that’s another story. </span></div><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span>Moral: rumors undermine the church. In this case, small congregations are made to feel threatened and devalued. Suspicions of conspiracy spread. Trust is eroded. Some people don’t trust me because they think I am a church killer; I don’t trust some people because they <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">may</i> be the ones spreading the rumors. Since I don’t know who is actually saying these things, I am apt to suspect people who are perfectly innocent. A little chunk of ice is thereby dropped into our relationship. The few spreading the rumor understand each other to be the good guys sitting in judgment on the bad guy or bad guys. And so the church is divided between the ostensibly good and the ostensibly evil. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>The opportunity to join in such rumor-mongering is enticing. It has an energy to it almost as delicious as scandal.</span><br /> <br /><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>I tell my own story because I know it best and am free to relate it in more detail without compromising anyone else. But I am not a special target. This is how we often treat each other. I once met with a church group that was uniformly angry at a particular person. They were mostly angry about things <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">they had heard </i>he said or did. As to most of the allegations, I had no personal knowledge of what actually happened. But as to those events I did know about, the version of facts the group was angry about differed significantly from what the eye witnesses had told me. In a few cases, the group was in sync with the version of the story told by one person but not by the other. <span style="mso-spacerun: yes;"> </span>Ultimately, the facts did not matter as much as the story that was told. The version people repeat and the version people choose to believe has the power to build up the community or to tear it down.</span><br /> <br /><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 10pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span>I cannot count how many people I have known who were driven out of churches by gossip. The congregation almost always loses the person who is the target of the gossip and it usually loses a few more as collateral damage. Gossip is an effective way to keep the church small – and yes there are those in almost every congregation<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">  </span>who like to keep the group small enough to be cozy, and in some cases, small enough they can control it. The agenda (usually unconscious) to drive people out and disrupt community is, in my experience, the most common reason people <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">start</i> negative rumors. Sometimes those motives cause people to <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">repeat </i>them – but more often, the <i style="mso-bidi-font-style: normal;">repeaters and spreaders</i> of rumors are even more unconscious. They are caught up in the energy of being in the know and letting others in on the secret. Such sharing creates a pathological but seductive intimacy. “How beautiful upon the mountain are feet of the bearers of good news” (Isaiah 52: 7) but “popular in the valley are the faces of the bearers of bad news and dark acts.”</span></div><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span>So what to do about it all? If one is inclined to start or spread destructive rumors in the church, it would be better for that person’s emotional and spiritual health that they hit the pause button to check their motives. The problem James cites with rumor-mongers is that they “deceive their own hearts.” If one really wants to split a community, undermine a spiritual leader, cast the church in a bad light, then they should fire away, take their best shot – but do it consciously, with intentionality. Another option would be to look back to the source of their anger, find what is really bothering them, and go to the person who has offended them and look for some resolution. By the grace of God, that is possible. I have seen it happen.</span><br /> <br /><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><span style="mso-tab-count: 1;">                </span>And when we hear the rumor, what then? The member of the Ministry Development Committee did a very healthy thing. First, she checked the facts. Second, she let the person targeted by the rumor know what is being said and give him (me) a chance to respond. feet up or laying down

I was lucky enough to win a design consult with the lovely Jessie at <a href="http://www.mixandchic.com/" target="_blank">Mix and Chic</a> and we have been working on our family room/playroom. She has come up with some really great ideas and I can't wait to start working on the space, but it has brought up an ongoing discussion in our house.<div><br /></div><div>Sectionals.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />The hubs and I like our couch time. We log many hours on that sucker (isn't it our duty as Americans?) and we require comfort.<br /><br />Our first couch, god rest its soul, was the single greatest couch created. We scored it at a consignment shop when we got our first apartment and that thing was sent straight from heaven. Perfect for napping, spooning (TMI?) and plenty of room to seat an army. It wasn't a sectional but was the size of a barge. And it made it thru three apartments before it just got too big and too beat up to drag along any longer. Insert lone tear here.<br /><br />So when we moved into our current we got a new couch for the family room and 5 1/2 years later the thing is beat up, full of saggy cushions and frankly, not that comfortable. So the sectional debate begins again.<br /><br />For whatever reason, when I thought of sectionals, I always thought of those bad 80'couches that take up a whole room with bad burgundy fabric and overstuffed head cushions and la-z-boys at the end.<br /><br />But, sectionals have come a long way baby. I think I am in love. In den USA verzockte <i>JP Morgan</i> mit riskanten Börsenwetten mindestens zwei Milliarden US-Dollar. Beobachter vor Ort halten dies für die Spitze des Eisbergs. Und der scheidende Deutsche-Bank-Vorstandschef Josef Ackermann regte vor wenigen Tagen einen Rettungsfonds für das gesamte europäische Bankensystem an. Zwar erklärte Regierungschef Mariano Rajoy vollmundig, mit der jüngsten Bankenreform bekomme man die Krise in den Griff. Unabhängige Experten jedoch reagieren mit großer Skepsis und unterstellen dem spanischen Ministerpräsidenten schlicht Zweckoptimismus. »<i>Die (spanischen) Banken sind wohl kaum in der Lage, im Privatsektor Geld zu bekommen. Also bleibt als letzte Rettung der Staat. Und das bedeutet: der Steuerzahler. Denn hinter den Kulissen bereiten die so genannten Euro-Retter bereits das nächste krumme Ding vor. Bald soll es möglich sein, nicht nur ganze Staaten, sondern zum Beispiel auch die Banken eines Landes unter den europäischen Rettungsschirm zu stellen. Eine solche Lösung ist anscheinend für Spanien geplant. Tatsache ist: Alle Rettungsaktionen der vergangenen Monate verpufften weitgehend wirkungslos. Seit 2009 mussten nicht weniger als acht Banken und Sparkassen vom Staat gerettet werden. Über den Bankenrettungsfonds <i>FROB</i>flossen in den vergangenen Monaten über 16 Milliarden Euro in den maroden Finanzsektor. Die Geldinstitute mussten derweil bereits faule Kredite in Höhe von rund 54 Milliarden Euro abschreiben. Sowohl die sozialistische als auch die jetzt amtierende konservative Regierung verabschiedeten drei Bankenreformen. Keine brachte den erhofften Durchbruch. Es gibt wenig Grund, anzunehmen, dass die jetzt verkündete Bankenreform wirklich erfolgreicher sein könnte.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Aktuellen Schätzungen zufolge braucht der spanische Bankensektor mindestens 140 Milliarden Euro, um wieder auf die Beine zu kommen. Während aber viele US-Institute ihre notleidenden Kredite in abenteuerliche ABS-Konstruktionen verpackten und diese »Pakete« an Investoren verkauften, behielten die meisten spanischen Banken ihre faulen Kredite in den Büchern, weil sie auf allmählich wieder steigende Immobilienpreise setzten. Doch angesichts einer Rekordarbeitslosenquote von mindestens 25 Prozent (bei Jugendlichen sogar 50 Prozent)  ging diese Rechnung nicht auf. Im Gegenteil: Derzeit stehen fast eine Million Wohnungen leer und sind allenfalls zu »Schnäppchenpreisen« zu verkaufen. Angesichts der hohen Arbeitslosigkeit können immer mehr spanische Bankkunden ihre Immobilien- und Konsumentenkredite nicht mehr bedienen. Ökonom Spillmann befürchtet daher, dass die Summe der faulen Kredite steigen und sich der Kapitalbedarf der Banken weiter erhöhen wird.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Es kommt hinzu, dass gerade die Sparkassen untereinander in einem ruinösen Wettbewerb stehen. Seit der Deregulierung der Branche gilt für die spanischen Sparkassen (<i>cajas de ahorros</i>) kein Regionalprinzip mehr. Alle drehten landesweit am großen Rad des anscheinend nicht enden wollenden Baubooms. Heute sind die Kassen leer und die Küsten zubetoniert.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% white; line-height: 16pt; margin: 3.75pt 0in;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span lang="DE-AT" style="color: #333333; font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">Die jetzt verstaatlichte <i>Bankia</i>, in deren Büchern faule Kredite von über 30 Milliarden Euro schlummern sollen, war erst Ende 2010 aus einer Fusion von sieben <i>cajas</i> hervorgegangen. Einmal mehr flüchteten die Verantwortlichen unter dem Druck der damals sozialistischen Regierung in die Größe. Dadurch entstand ein neuer »Too-big-to-fail«-Kandidat, also eine Großbank, die nicht pleitegehen darf, weil die Folgen desaströs wären. Tatsächlich hält <i>Bankia</i>über zehn Prozent aller Einlagen des spanischen Bankensystems. Nach der Zwangsfusion von sieben <i>cajas</i> zur <i>Bankia</i> wurde die neue Großbank im Sommer vergangenen Jahres an die Börse gebracht. Den Anlegern wurde ein aussichtsreiches Investment versprochen. The incumbent will respond to diverse membership needs (800+ multi-type member libraries) by increasing visibility and political awareness, and providing measured return on investment for members and communities. CLC recently adopted an ambitious (2012-2015) strategic plan, which is already underway and will require the next Executive Director to manage the achievement of its goals. Additionally, the Executive Director will manage the operations of the Connecticut Library Association (CLA).<br /><br />Responsibilities: Establishing and coordinating organizational goals, program directions, and services; developing and cultivating partnerships with other statewide non-library groups; monitoring actions of the state legislature that may impact upon CLC and serving as its advocate; engaging in budget planning and oversight; hiring and managing all staff and supervising all operations; coordinating membership communications; and marketing CLC to its constituencies.<br /> Required qualifications: Masters Degree required, preferably an MLS, MNM, MPA or equivalent. The KLA used to have up to 10 per cent of underage fighters in its ranks. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">There were numerous reports of the KLA having contacts with Al-Qaeda, getting arms from that terrorist organization, getting its militants trained in Al-Qaeda camps in PAKISTAN and even having members of Al-Qaeda in its ranks fighting against SERBS.The same horrors that were witnessed during the war in KOSOVO are now apparently being prepared for the multi-confessional Syrian population by Islamist SYRIAN Liberation Army trained in Muslim KOSOVO in the middle of EUROPE.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">The SYRIAN Liberation Army group that actually formed the delegation to Kosovo has been fighting with the SYRIAN government for over a year now. This stand-off has claimed well over 9,000 lives, about half of them SYRIAN servicemen, law enforcers and officials.Lately, the militants have been squeezed out of the SYRIAN cities and their positions along the SYRIAN-TURKISH border. Being unable to turn the tide independently, the SYRIAN Liberation Army has been addressing to its foreign sponsors to start a military intervention into SYRIA to topple President Bashar Assad.</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="color: red; line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">ACQUIRING PSY OPS WARFARE TACTICS </span></b></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">According to some experts it is however doubtful that the SYRIAN rebels would learn much in terms of military tactics from the KLA. The so-called KOSOVO Liberation Army had in fact already been defeated by the SERBIAN army in 1998.Once SERBIA agreed on a ceasefire, pulled back troops, and let in OSCE observers, the KLA used this situation to intensify their attacks so as to provoke a military reaction. By presenting themselves as freedom fighters and victims to the Western media, the KLA secured a Western intervention in March 1999 after they staged a fake massacre in Račak. They started their terrorist ambushes in 1997. They intensified their activities in 1998. But all along it was atrocity management that they wanted, for instance, the famous case of Racak where the combat victims were presented as innocent civilian dead slaughtered by the SERBS. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">But even during the bombing the SERBIAN forces maintained full control of all of the key population centers and they even kept the roads open. It’s only that the KLA came in after the SERBS started withdrawing under the terms of the ceasefire with NATO. And even then they were not engaging in combat, they were acting as marauders ethnically cleansing non-ALBANIANS. So the first point is that there is nothing to learn in terms of combat efficiency and in terms of actually organizing a successful guerilla force. </span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">RT: Words that have been associated with the KLA – assassination, terror, bombings – is that really the kind of thing that the SYRIAN opposition wants to be associated with?</span></span></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><br /></div><div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif";">ST: It seems that they don’t care, because I understand that Ammar Abdulhamid, one of the SYRIAN opposition leaders who came to Pristina and actually spoke to an AP reporter, said “We are here to learn.” Now this should be a huge wake-up call for those SYRIANS who are not supportive of the opposition, especially the minorities: the Alawites, the Christians – either Orthodox or GREEK Catholic – the Shiites, the KURDS. The moderate Sunni Muslims should remember that if the SYRIAN rebels learn from the KLA, that means there will be a bloodbath after the fall of Assad and there will be no room for anyone but the majority group which subscribes to its extremist credo, whether it is that of greater Albania in KOSOVO or the Muslim Brotherhood offshoot in SYRIA.</span></span><br /><br /><span style="font-size:
