It was 15 inches long, featured 12 PVC cells and was called the Sunmobile. Its solar-power-operated, 1.5-volt motor turned the driveshaft and transferred the energy to propel the wheels.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 0.55em; margin-top: 0.55em;">Seven years later, the first full-size solar-powered car, a 50-year-old Baker, was unveiled as a concept car. But it was never mass-produced. Numerous other solar-powered cars, some with odd names like Bluebird and Quiet Achiever, had their moments of fame in auto shows and competitions.</div><div style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: Georgia, Times, serif; font-size: 16px; line-height: 26px; margin-bottom: 0.55em; margin-top: 0.55em;">In more recent years, several Japanese and American carmakers have also introduced solar-powered hybrid cars. The concept-only vehicles have ranged from using solar power to run accessories to cells installed inside headlights. I miss them," Khobragade told The Sunday Express.<br />"What if my children choose to study and work in the US? What if I can never return to the US, which I cannot now. Does it mean we will never be able to live together as a family again?" she said.<br />"I know I am honest, and I will come out clean. But we do not know how much time it will take and for how long my family will have to suffer due to this," she added.<br />Her arrest on December 12 outside her children's school and treatment in custody, where she said she was subjected to a cavity search, outraged India which claimed she benefited from full diplomatic immunity.<br />US prosecutors disputed this, and filed charges in New York accusing Khobragade of sometimes forcing the Indian maid to work 100-hour weeks, even when sick and often without a day off, for pay as little as $1.22 an hour.<br />Khobragade did obtain diplomatic immunity when last week New Delhi asked Washington to grant her a G1 visa given to diplomats at India's UN mission, which is also in New York.<br />The row between the two countries, which had embraced each other as strategic partners, saw weeks of feisty exchanges that strained bilateral ties and left resentment on both sides.<br />India has removed extra security barriers at the US embassy in New Delhi, demanded contract details for domestic staff employed by American diplomats and even stopped the mission importing duty-free food and alcohol.<br />On Wednesday, it ordered an embassy leisure centre popular with American expatriates in the capital to stop admitting non-diplomatic members, while scheduled visits by US officials to India have been cancelled.<br />In a fresh retaliatory measure late Friday, India asked the United States to withdraw an embassy official in New Delhi.<br />The expelled American diplomat was a "similar rank" to Khobragade and is thought to have helped the family of her maid travel to America where they were granted protection by prosecutors.<br />US prosecutors say the family of the maid were evacuated to the United States because of attempts to intimidate them.<br />In her newspaper interview, Khobragade said she would continue a legal fight to clear her name, including attempting to have her case in New York officially dismissed in a federal court.<br />"I have come to India but my stand still needs to be vindicated. And of course, I have been separated from my family, and I am under immense stress for my children," Khobragade said.<br />"I spoke to my kids for hours last night, and they are already missing me. Can't ever have too many highly compensated restaurant workers in this brave new world!<br /><br />As clearly seen in the chart (red trend line), it will only grow exponentially higher from here. Just look at that 0.990 correlation!<br /><br />What's that blue line you say? Oh, that's an old trend that you need not concern yourself with all that much. With a lower correlation of just 0.988 it was surely doomed to fail at some point. And what a pathetic growth rate it had. That 1.78% annual growth rate pales in comparison to the new and improved 2.42%.<br /><br />And to think, all we needed to get here was a Great Recession to speed things along. It's only a matter of time before every man, woman, and child in America will be flipping burgers for a living! Hurray! Ya Gotta Love The Internet

I know I do.<br />Besides looking for boobs like a preponderance of my foreign visitors do, I use the internet for all kinds of things.<br /><br />Just today it saved me a buttload of money and misery.<br /><br />As today is my one day off this week, there have been a few Honey Do's piling up all at once.<br />Of course I find this out a little at a time.<br />The garage door quit working so I hear, the shower faucet went from leaking occasionally to a full time drip of hot water and the Big One, the dryer quit getting hot.<br /><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaAKhBH7kQbFBz2MNkUemDFqPynNDYJqlhyphenhyphenXFzTG5zVMHYAbnujrUq3LKjEJFl_2qfzq5E_fpPIhgmteqqLWjnHWT1E3nmI2sb-FxJ-TvPIf8jvLeydng4rteFSleICrxfr8zSM6phLsHp/s640/blue-screen-of-death-14704-hd-wallpapers.jpg" /></a></div><br />I tackled the dryer next and this is where the internet shined like a bazillion candle power spotlight into the void of my ignorance about those fucking things.<br /><br />For one thing, it's got 240 fucking volts running into the back of it and that is something you don't just go poking around in like a dumbass.<br /><br />It'll get ya crispy and very dead.<br /><br />I have never been much of an electrician but I have to work around 480 volt shit at work and it puckers my asshole up so tight you couldn't pound a needle up my ass with a sledge hammer.<br /><br />I had 480 flash in my face one time while I was standing on a damn 2X12 thirty feet over a river under an electric crane.<br />It not only sounded like a stick of dynamite went off in my face, it blinded the fuck out of me and there was no where to go except down.<br /><br />I managed not to shit my pants and stay on that damn board but let me tell you, that is something that you will <i>NEVER</i>, forget.<br /><br />So with that in mind, I started hitting The Google looking for stuff about Maytag dryers not getting hot.<br />Within seconds I found a Youtube covering that very subject with detailed diagnostic procedures that were very heavily sprinkled with safety reminders about unplugging it when doing certain tests.<br /><br />Perfect.<br /><br />I have a very good friend who knows these things inside and out but he has been as busy as I have and I hated to call him when I haven't even talked to him in over a month.<br /><br />I watched almost the whole twenty minute video to get an idea of where to look and what to check.<br /><br />So I gets my trusty Multi Meter out along with some screw drivers and sockets and tear into the thing.<br /><br />First thing, unplug the damn thing and check for power.<br />That's good.<br /><br />After I figured out how to get the front of the damn thing off, something the video didn't bother to show, it only took me about two minutes to find a burned up thermostat.<br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; Long story short, that was another successful repair.<br /><br />Now I am going to kick my feet up for a bit before I go put all the damn tools away I had to drag out.<br /><br />I don't know exactly how much money I just saved by not having to call 3 different repair guy's out here but I can guarantee you that it would have been enough to go buy a new dryer.<br /><br />Not bad for about five hours of messing around and on top of that I learned a few things.<br /><br />I just love the internet.
